Years ago we used to make sun tea--sitting a glass bottle out on the deck all day. I prefer a much cooler method now ... I just sit a pitcher out on the countertop for 6-10 hours (no water boiling, just cool water and teabags). Our favorite right now is blueberry "patience" tea. I usually add a little sweetener and stick it in the frig after a few hours on the counter. Recipe: 5-6 blueberry herbal tea bags (such a celestial seasonings) and a large pitcher of water. It is sooo refreshing on a hot day! Pretty too.
It does look refreshing, and pretty. I hadn't seen this version of the Annapolis glassware design before....
ReplyDeleteThat does look so very pretty! And, I am sure it is very refreshing.
ReplyDeleteOh I am going to try that, sounds so good! Happy 4th of July weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteThe tea looks delicious and those hydrangea are gorgeous. Ours are doing really well. They are a creamy white and turn a lovely salmon color in late fall and dry easily.
ReplyDeleteWe are having perfect weather right now with low humidity and mild temperatures. I know how hot and humid it can be down south from my Charleston days. I always long for the Shenandoah Valley in summer. It's hot days and cool nights are wonderful.
Best,
Bonnie
Hmmm... I never thought to do it cold. I use the sun to make ours. I think I might try your method. I'm not a tea drinker but DH and Bryan love it.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th my friend!

Hi Dotsie...
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing today, sweet lady? I just wanted to come over and say thank you for stopping in for a visit yesterday and taking a peek at my master bedroom summer redo. I always enjoy your visits and sweet notes! Girlfriend, you commented about the walls in that room. Those walls took me nearly a week to do! I did this technique that would (hopefully) resemble and "Old World" Tuscan plaster. Eeeks! I have thought about repainting that room...and can never quite get up the nerve...considering all my hard labor and time! Hehe! Anyway, thanks for the compliments about the walls!
Now...let's talk tea! Hehe! I am a tea drinker with a capital "T"! In fact, I have a big ol' glass that I'm sipping on right now! I love, love, LOVE sun tea...brewed tea just can't compare. I have never tried the cold tea method that you're using...but I'm going to give it a try. Does it taste like sun tea? Also...the blueberry tea "Patience" sounds divine! Blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry are my favorite fruits/flavorings. Thank you for sharing your tea and beautiful photo with us...love it, Girlfriend!
I also wanted to let you know that I read the post that you did about Amy Carmichael. I have read several of her books...she was quite a woman! A woman after God's own heart...I would say! Her work in India is such an inspiration and a testimony of God's saving Grace!!! Thank you for sharing that sweet post with us as well!
Well my friend, you and your family have a Happy 4th of July!!!
Love ya,
Chari @Happy To Design
