Father Tim said, "I believe if I were charged with having a goal, it would be to live without fretting––to live more fully in the moment, not always huffing about as I've done in recent years ... to live humbly––and appreciatively––with whatever God furnishes. Yes, that would be my goal." (from
Light From Heaven by Jan Karon).
I need to hear this today and every day!

Ah, the wisdom of Father Tim! Those Mitford folk made it difficult for him but he did manage to live in the moment from time to time. I need that reminder too.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Good words to repeat and roll around in the mind. Sometimes it's so hard to do.
ReplyDeletewe all need to hear these words...often. Picture is pretty and serene...looks like Gatlinburg.
ReplyDeleteDitto on Father Tim's musings. I need to reread those books. Mitford is such a sweet place for one to go in your mind.
ReplyDeleteHappy Be-lated birthday!!!!
I LOVE those Father Tim books (Mitford)
ReplyDeleteI read and reread them!
Great words of wisdom to keep in mind everyday!
ReplyDeleteHello sweet friend...
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you today for Sunday Favorites! Girlfriend, I do apologize for not getting by to see you sooner...it's just been a crazy-busy summer for me! And I don't think it's going to lighten up anytime soon. My youngest daughter Jenni and five grandchildren will be here next week. We're planning a camping trip up in the mountains! I'm sooo excited to get to go camping with my grandkids!!!
Well my friend, Father Tim was a wise man! I enjoyed reading what he wrote...even pondered about it for a bit! It reminds me of the scripture where Paul said, To be content in whatever circumstance and or place that you find yourself! (My paraphrase, of course!) I find as I grow older that this is much easier to do! To just be satified...not so anxious for things! And...I know that I am much more appreciative of what I have and where I am!!! But I have had to go through some really hard times to get to this place! It was difficult at the time but I can praise and thank God for allowing me to go through those days of struggles! I try to not take anything...or any day...for granted! God has truly blessed us with each day...a gift from HIM!!!
Well sweet lady, I do hope that my note is finding you well! Have a blessed day!!!
Love ya,
Chari @Happy To Design
