Last weekend "Littlest" started playing with his daddy's and uncle's match box cars.
When our boys were little they called them "gatch gotch cars."
He got right into it, and seemed particularly drawn to the big tires and the bus.
"Vroom..vroom .." a natural sound inborn in small boys.
And then a little read with Grandpa in his daddy's R. Scarry's
Cars and Trucks and Things that Go book ...
It all just warms this grandma's heart!

It just doesn't get better than that. We have a big carton of match box toys and they are a big draw for the boys.....and I kept all the busy town books too!
ReplyDeleteSo, so sweet! Precious little ones :)
ReplyDeleteIs that a sweet little cowlick on the front of his hairline? Some of mine have that, and I LOVE it. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love this mosaic! "Littlest" is just precious.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your grands Dotsie. No cars for us, only cabbage patch dolls, barbies and my little pony. :-)

Wonderful! Just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Dottie
Such big, bright eyes!
ReplyDeletePrecious! I love hearing about children who get to enjoy their parent's childhood toys and books.
ReplyDeleteHow cute, your grandchildren are adorable. My son loved the matchbox cars. He had a collection. Lovely photos, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThey are so precious. Lovely mosaic.
ReplyDeleteBrings back sweet memories for me and when our boys were little. In spring we will have a little one to play with as you have. I look forward to that. Precious. Valerie
ReplyDeleteExactly so... I can see that we were running on the same wire yesterday. My grands also love their dad's matchbox cars. I even found one green truck parked on the back of the sofa and thought of the zebra parked over here last week. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a little darling and nothing better than the old matchboxes to play with it.
ReplyDeleteJust so. I say our son was born making the Vroom, vroom noises that his sisters never did. Little cars to hold in a little hand are just perfect, as is the sweetness in your mosaic.
ReplyDeleteYour collage is so nice with such special glimpses of your grandchildren in it! I read back through your posts i've missed and see that you are enjoying retirement. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYes, the kiddos, vroom sounds and books do warm a grandma's heart. That was the first sound my son could make and he loved anything with wheels! Boys are amazing, aren't they, so unique, yet so alike in so many ways. Your littles are adorable.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Oh how very darling~
ReplyDeleteAren't those leaves gorgeous - full of so many colours. It's a wonderful time of year and you have captured it beautifully.
