Ordinary

What is it about the little ordinary eating places that draw in our hearts and make us memories?

We often just happen upon them. Their charm entices us; their quirkiness
enthralls us, and a window seat is just "icing on the cake."
These are the places where we best celebrate and the moments we most remember.

  1. I'm glad you re-ran this post. Your pictures remind me of my own favorite coffee shops and "luncheonettes." Ordinary and special at the same time.

  3. These little places are the places I LOVE to find. Don't you think that's why "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" is so popular on the Food Network???

Soda shop. When is the last time you found a good old fashioned pharmacy WITH a soda fountain???? I miss those.

  4. Hi Dotsie...Happy May Day!

Loved this post, my friend! I love the little "Mom & Pop" diners! I think it's the nostalgia of "days gone by" that draw me to them! We have one such diner nearby...it has been in business for years and years! It's still one of my favorite eating establishments! Well dear friend, thank you so much for sharing this sweet post with us for the Sunday Favorites repost party this week! Sure was sweet hearing from you and chatting again.

    Warmest May Day wishes...

  5. How true, and it seems more and more often...small towns and large, have somewhere special to visit and love.

  6. Podso,
"Mr. Ed" and I spent many of our dating years in those same quirky places 46 years ago! Thanks for the memory!
    Fondly,
