Our neighbor's dogwood tree is especially magnificent this year. Our very warm
temperatures brought spring quickly this year, but because it then got cold, some
things have lingered longer than usual.
We've enjoyed this dogwood across the street for several weeks now!
If you don't know the legend of the dogwood tree, it's worth looking up!
I don't know the legend...I'll look it up later today :) We have two dogwoods in our yard...probably my favorite spring trees!
ReplyDeleteThat IS a spectacular dogwood. I love the legend and recently found out about a similar one for the passion flower (through a blog). Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Dotsie! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThe neighborhood where I grew up had streets and yards full of dogwoods--pink and white. My sisters and I were told the legend early on and that we were to treat the trees with respect. I recall them being quite glorious tucked into the woods along the Blue Ridge Parkway as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely tree.
Best,
Bonnie
Beautiful! You were right about that town in PA. It was Midford. I thought I'd remember the name as it reminded me of Mitford as in the books The Mitford Series. I just forget the author but they are a delightful series to read. Have a wonderful weekend! Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tree! This is my favorite time of year, when everything comes alive...the Bradford pears, red buds and Newport Purple Leaf Plums are starting to blossom here.
ReplyDeleteDotsie,
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. We had pink dogwoods in Connecticut. I do miss the flowering trees. The legend in wonderful.

Good Morning, Dotsie...
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to dtop by to say hello this morning, my friend! I hope that my note is finding you well. Ohhh my...your neighbor's Dogwood tree is so very beautiful! It is just loaded with blooms, isn't it? You know, I don't believe that I have ever seen a Dogwood tree...outside of photos. It certainly is a gorgeous site...such a sweet view from your place. Well dear friend, have a wonderful day today!
Warmest spring wishes,
Chari
So very lovely. I do not think I have ever seen a dogwood tree in bloom!
ReplyDeleteI think I would have to look at it for a very long time. Does it have a scent?
That tree is glorious! The bougainvillea are blooming here right now -- pink, red, white and peach colored. So pretty although the weather has been mostly over our Spring Break. Have a great weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeletePodso,
ReplyDeleteBreathtakingly beautiful sight to behold! The ornamental pear trees in our area are just beginning to lose their blooms. The red buds have bloomed and the drive around town is gorgeous! Thank you for these lovely photos!
Fondly,
Pat
We wish we had dogwoods here. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteStunning...our dogwoods are not even showing a bit of color yet...we are late on spring this year it seems!
