On the way home from time at my sister's we had a lovely stroll through the streets of the lower
part of old city Charleston. We took our time and studied the houses, enhaled the scent of spring
flowers and horse droppings, and caught ourselves up in an ambience that is unique to Charleston.
We had dinner and then strolled some more.
It was all so delightful and made a wonderful memory for the Gardener and me.
Please visit Mary's Little Red House for more Monday Mosaics.
When I first pulled up your page, my heart skipped a beat thinking it was sister city Savannah, where we used to reside. I love Charleston too! Wish I could be strolling down those streets today. So pretty and fun! Glad you enjoyed yourselves!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you enjoyed your strolling as it is so beautiful there!

ReplyDeleteThose window boxes...wow! You enjoy the aroma of horse droppings? So does someone who lives in my house and it is not moi. ☺
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely stroll by all these wonderful old homes. It's almost too hot here to do any strolling ... on of my favorite things! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteHi Podso
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the sights from your stoll, interesting architecture.
I've never thought of horse droppings as a scent of spring. :-)

What a charming city! How lovely to walk those streets seeing all of the sweet houses. I especially love the window boxes, what gorgeous flowers they have!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
I love the window boxes! I heard that the horses in Charleston wear diapers. It's a big debate here in Williamsburg.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good trip.
Oh, I am so jealous! I just love Charlestown! I am happy you got to see it in all it's springtime glory!

Charleston is absolutely beautiful! I've only been there a couple of times, but it is the kind of place that remains in your heart and memory forever.
ReplyDeleteCharleston is one of my favorite places that we've lived. I'd love to be there this month to, once again, be a part of the Spoleto Festival. Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Isn't Charleston the most perfect city?! I did a mosaic on it too....well, actually on Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. I guess great minds really do think alike. Lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo's of great houses. It has certainly made fun to stroll through the streets. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Markus
Hope that you are having a wonderful time. The photos are wonderful - love the architecture!

It is delightful, isn't it! Its been a long time since we were there but I remember it yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to find that you are a 'Larkrise' fan also. I too wish they hadn't ended the series, but the grand finale was the best of them all don't you think so? Dear Minnie played a delightful part in the finale...and I loved the unfolding drama of the Browns and Dorcas too.
ReplyDeleteThe flower shaped facecloth was a pattern from the book 'Weekend Knitting' by Melanie (Falik?) I borrowed from the Library here. Wouldn't you know it.....our 3 year old, wants Nana to knit him one just like brothers'... that little genius to come up with such an idea.
Looks like a marvelous place for a stroll. I hope to see Charleston with my own two eyes someday....but till then, your lovely photos are a good substitute. I like that stand-alone 3-story white house with the black shutters....
