Since I was in my Kenya photo files I pulled out some pictures of what I saw further along the path (shown in previous post). I was delighted to talk to this young girl with her baby brother on her back. Her house is to the right, and if you look closely above the clothesline you'll see some red flowers that bring beauty to a humble dwelling. What a view of the tea valley they have from on top of the hills. The upper left shows a hamlet lined up with houses of those who work the tea farms. And upper right: kids walking home from school through the tea fields.

I've been enjoying Judy's trip to Kenya at My Front Porch and now these wonderful photos from your file. I think hamlet could be many places, but I'd never have chosen Kenya.

ReplyDeleteI love seeing these photos! It takes us to a part of the world most of us will never see, but that we need to be aware of! Thank you! ♥
ReplyDeleteHi Podso, great photos of a beautiful country. We had friends that lived in Kenya many years ago and have fond memories of their time there. We are off to Sri Lanka this coming Wednesday, our second trip, and a time to make more lasting memories. How wonderful that you are able to read the journal of your great aunt. That must be so interesting. The photo you used of her to create your beautiful Valentines is just gorgeous! And what a treat to skype with a friend in Austria. That is one country I hope to visit in the near future! Take care and have a wonderful week. Tammy
