I'm a great sweeper. I like things tidy and even got a new broom for my birthday.
But when I see this on the driveway, strangely I don't care to sweep.
I think it's about perspective. These crepe myrtle blossoms decorate our grass and
driveway so beautifully like fresh fallen pink snow.
Even though they are no longer on the tree, I want to enjoy their rich color as long as possible!
I feel like there is some life analogy here. I guess I'll let you find it.
I feel the same way about flower petals that fall from vases onto tables and countertops. Just another stage in the beauty they bring into our world.

I love crepe myrtle trees . They are a delight. The flowers are the stars of our southern garden but I hate it when the flowers fall in my swimming pool.

Thoughtful perspective! I like it and besides it saves a few steps and a person can blog longer. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a crepe myrtle, but the colour looks beautiful. I feel the same way about the cherry and plum blossoms that cover the streets in early spring, clogging the gutters and lying deep in the window wells - beauty is where you find it.
ReplyDeleteI like to think of those coverings as a carpet blown in!
ReplyDeleteFor just a little while you have a floral patterned God designed driveway! Bless your heart!

Hi Podso,
ReplyDeleteI think flowers like people are beautiful in all stages of life!
Carolyn
What gorgeous color.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure that I'm smart enough to draw a deep analogy from this -- in fact I know I'm not -- but I think it's wonderful that you get the max out of your crepe myrtle blossoms. Beautiful!
Cass
I think it is just your charming beauty loving heart =]
ReplyDeleteHmmm...
ReplyDeleteLife is like flower petals, enjoy them while you can?
I wouldn't sweep them away either.
I have to get a crepe myrtle. I am starting to see a lot of them here, never did before!
Perspective makes all the difference doesn't it...in so many ways and areas of life. I love your pink blossoms on the gray driveway...very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe were down near Raleigh two weeks ago and there were crepe myrtles in bloom everywhere: along highway 64, shopping centers, homes, conutry roads. Marainne was enthralled and I think I will be digging a hole for one this fall even though the Maryland winter may be a little too cold for them.
