my view

The Gardener brought back the kitchen window box
and my view at mealtimes has improved immensely.
I sometimes wonder why I look at the garage when I eat while
I could sit in a seat to view the yard and the "ladies" who have arrived to put on a show.
I'm usually loaded up with projects while the G. is OOT and don't take much time to eat.
For something easy I often do my version of a quick pizza: a soft tortilla layered with salsa,
chopped spinach leaves, black olives, cottage cheese, whatever else might be in the frig, and
topped with some grated cheese. Since the oven was already on this particular day, I baked
it and the crispiness enhanced the flavor!
I'm enjoying a fresh bouquet of knockout roses each morning
as they are really knocking themselves out right now!

  1. I love that your table is beautifully set even as you dine alone. And what a lovely view you have! The window box is so pretty, to say nothing of those roses that are knocking themselves out! ;)

  6. I love your dishes! My knock-out rose bush (I only have the one), is just starting to turn green--no signs of flowers anytime soon. I mustn't complain because Janet in Rochester says their forsythia isn't even in bloom yet! I agree, the view of your lovely garden is much better than the garage. I'm sure, though, if you give the Gardener the seat with the view of the garage, it won't be long before that area will be planted with knock-out roses or some such flowering bush! You will need to tell me what OOT stands for! ☺This may be a term I need to know!

  7. Oh my, look at your roses! I'm visiting blog after blog this morning with gorgeous blooms and thinking I live too far north. :-)
I like the pizza you made and recently we had bruschetta at a restaurant that was done on flat bread, a different concept but much lighter too.

  9. Your pizza looks amazing. I made home made tortillas one night this week and then quesadillas....oh they were yummy. Love your window boxes and those roses. Knock out roses do well here in FL, too so I want to plant some by my bedroom window. I guess it's time! Hugs!

  16. Your garden looks wonderful. I love that swinging seat in the shade: a great place to read a good book, and watch the sun go by. Oh, and I must confess to some serious rose envy! I really wish my roses were growing so beautifully as yours. Bonny

  17. Podso,
Your gardens are breathtakingly gorgeous to this Prairie gal, dear friend!!!
I smile at your comment about the view from where you dine. If not careful to close the bi~fold doors, mine is of our laundry area. . .not appetizing at all!!!
Sometimes, I switch our seating arrangements, just so I can gaze out on the Gardens!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos with us!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  18. I enjoyed this post, Dotsie. I love your blue and white dishes and your pretty silver flatware. The little vase of Knockouts looks so sweet next to your plate. :) Your Knockout roses are gorgeous, and so is that blue sky! :) My MIL had two bushes, and for some reason they died last year. They got some sort of disease.

I also love your window box filled with petunias and your pretty Irises. Irises are one of my favorite flowers; they remind me of watercolor paintings. My MIL's irises are beautiful this year. I think our cold winter was good for some of our flowering bulbs, don't you?

Hope you have a great weekend, Dotsie!

    Hugs,

    Denise
