April, in water color, from the top, left to right: 1. Our mentor group this month made
lotion and sugar scrub. Only one more time with these girls and our two years with
them is over. We'll really miss them. 2. Immediately after that the
Gardener and I enjoyed a couple of days in Charleston.
3. The arrival of spring through my kitchen window. 4. Tea after school with Little One
who I should call "Big Girl" now. 5. My cleaning out process continues, and I said goodbye
to the first sweater I knitted--many years ago in high school. 6. Our April surprise was two
nights of a freeze just after our vegetable garden was planted. The water color app blotches out
a view of the pots and trash cans and buckets covering our tender plants.
Thankfully we only lost two. 7. April seemed to be a bonanza Lego month as Daddy's
Legos came out for the first time and some intense play commenced.
8. The month ended with an old fashioned Sunday afternoon drive, and a huge April shower.
It is amazing how much goes on in one month and I'm
so thankful for photos I happen to take that help trigger the memory!
I'm joining Cheryl's delightful "Gathering the Moments" at
You know you just discarded a potential family heirloom in that sweater? :-)
ReplyDeleteDotsie, how very creative! How clever to use your Waterlogue app to create your "Gathering the Moments" collage...it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe Legos! Aren't you glad you saved them? I have a big box here that belonged to my son. So far, my younger girls and my oldest daughter's children have played with them, but they will go to Ryan's children when he requests them. They already have his Fisher Price barn and airport.
After school tea with "Big Girl" sounds delightful!
Glad you were able to save your plants...maybe spring has arrived to stay now. It seems so.
Your mosaic certainly tells the story of your month. Lovely scenes, and a lovely record of this month of April. Thanks for sharing your moments!
Ah, the memory of Sunday afternoon drives! I regret that we never did them with our boys--life was too busy I suppose. I have boxes of Legos and Duplos residing in the basement. Lovely memories.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
I have been so busy that I have missed several of your posts. How interesting about the fabric for the skirt, blouse and headwrap! And how lovely to use it on your Easter table!
ReplyDeleteI have just recently gotten that water color app, and am having a lot of fun with it too!
XO Kris
What a lovely way to recount your month--in watercolor! When I read "old-fashioned Sunday afternoon drive" your words immediately conjured up our BC Sunday afternoon drives (before children) in our little Spitfire convertible--which we had to sell after our first child was born! When Ken retired he traded in his SUV for a little convertible sports car, but we don't make it a regular practice to just go for a drive. I think the high gas prices have chased that idea from our minds. It's time, though, to reinstitute that idea. Thank you for planting it firmly back in my mind!
ReplyDeleteLove your moments shared this way!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful month!

That is a beautiful collage... It really is amazing to consider all that goes on in a month. (I had forgotten about the freeze so far south. Rotten trick! ) Have a blessed and busy May, too!
ReplyDeleteI really like the watercolor effect. Seems especially appropriate for April. That cold snap took many a gardener by surprise! Here's to many more teas and many more lego-paloozas!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images. Our lego has entertained our children, the much younger cousins and now the grandchild. Building memories as it were.
ReplyDeleteYou've used Waterlogue to create a beautiful gathering of April moments.
ReplyDeleteLegos are a classic - we have bins of them from when our children were growing up and Duplo now for the little ones.
Tea with your granddaughter is a lovely idea. I'm taking one of mine out for a sweet treat this afternoon.
Wow! I'm glad you only lost 2 plants. What a lovely month!
ReplyDeleteYay for Legos! They've entertained my boys for hours! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty mosaic representing April. I like the watercolour app to it. Your new header photo is lovely too. Happy May to you!
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful remembrance of April, this would be so pretty printed, I love Sunday afternoon drives especially in the country! Thank you for sharing.

Podso,
ReplyDeleteI love your recap of each month!!! This would make a fabulous photo calendar!!!
Fondly,
Pat
I really need to get the waterlogue app. Your photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDotsie, I love, love this collage/mosaic of your April highlights! I think the little white church is just beautiful and also love the shot of your newly planted garden. I'm glad you didn't lose too many of your plants. Mr. Forest Manor has four tiny tomato plants sprouting on our back porch. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit; I hope you have a great day. BTW, I still wish I had that watercolor app. for my PC. :)
Hugs,
Denise
I loved reading your memories of April Dotsie.
ReplyDeleteYour mentor group has done some amazing things. I would love to learn these things too.
When this group finishes - do you have a rest and then start a new group or is this a oncer?
I'm just thinking maybe we could do this at our Church too.
Beautiful in Waterlogue.
Hugs
Shane
