Afternoon Tea

Henry James wrote, "There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."
Stopping during the day for a cup of tea is good for the body and is good for the soul.
It's especially good in solitude, and it's especially good when shared with friends.
One of tea's best features is that it allows us to   s  l  o  w   down.
There is the beauty factor ... tea seems even better poured from
a pretty pot into a pretty cup!
Connecting to Rose Chintz Cottage in celebration of her two years of sharing tea times!

  1. Your teacups and teapots are gorgeous. I love your afternoon tea table, wish I could just transport myself there and have tea with you my friend. I love your new header...is that Little One there?
I had a post on my Bil's rose farm and now on his 300 year old hacienda, hope you visit and try to see the roses scrawling down a little. Enjoy a great week.

  7. Looks as if you had many guests for tea. A lovely way to be taken back to a gentler time...the tea, the cupcakes, the dishes, and most of all the sweet hospitality.

  19. Love you teapots and table setting! I adore the red transferware pot. I have been looking for one that isn't too pricey. I agree tea time makes us slow down...a much needed special time that we should all make for ourselves, friends and family! Thanks for sharing!

  23. Podso,
Your Tea Time tablescape is lovely, dear friend! I don't think I truly understood the s l o w down significance of "taking tea" until I practiced this ritual several times a week with my beloved mother~in~law during her 7 years in a Nursing Home. Stricken with aging, it was the one time when she would recall facts of her life and things from her memory that, at other times, evaded her. Those are now precious memories for me. I still enjoy the taking of tea on a daily basis. Once again, it has become a treasure...for now it is taken with "Mr. Ed" in his retirement!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  24. How lovely! There's no better way, for me, to enjoy the company of good friends than over a pot or two or three of tea. Given a free afternoon I'd rather have tea with a friend than many other things. I'd loved to have been at your table.
