not alone

C. S. Lewis wrote, "We read to know we are not alone."
I believe this is true for blogs. As we read we find much in common.
It brings comfort, doesn't it, to know someone else is experiencing or has experienced
the same as us? When I consider stopping my blog, this thought
and blog friendships are what keep me going.
I always enjoy sharing ideas and life as we communicate with each other.
Wishing you all many joys in 2015.

  2. Yes, that pretty much covers it. =D I am in awe of your soldiering on with blogging through recuperation and painful physical therapy. When I'm hurting, I'm hibernating. Here's to 2015 and better days ahead.

  3. I agree with you! Leaving my blogland "friends" is not acceptable. I feel the same with Facebook most of the time. All good wishes for the new year.

    Best,

  5. Happy New Year, dear blogging friend! I have enjoyed your 2014 mosaic and highlight notes and especially the Christmas photos of your family. Looking forward to your next year of sweet posts!

  6. Every morning when I check into my blog friend's posts, I'm taken around the world, enjoy the beauty of nature, feel the pain and excitement of my friends, and learn something new. It is such good exercise for my brain. We are all enslaved in social media! Happy 2015 to you as well.

  7. You know something funny? That is the same thing that keeps me going. That common bond with bloggers. I don't facebook, instagram, pinterest, twitter, or any of the passing fancies. This is slow and steady wins the race. And I think of all the close friendships I have developed through blogging. It boggles the mind!

Love to you and a Happy New Year!

  9. It is amazing the friendships that we can develop with people all across the world through blogging. I've not been blogging as much as in past years and I always feel bad about it. I have lots to say, lots to share but not always the time and/or inclination to do so. I hope you continue though as yours has always been a blog I enjoy. Happy 2015!

  10. I understand exactly what you mean, Dotsie. Unfortunately, it seems like I often have more in common with my fellow bloggers and friends than I do with my neighbors. Blogging friendships have brought me much joy and support, but it is very time-consuming. I have enjoyed getting to know you through blogging and I hope you'll continue for a long time. :)

Best wishes for a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year in 2015!

    Hugs,

    Denise

  11. A FB tea friend had a death in the family over Christmas and reached out to the rest of us for comfort. I think we feel comfortable enough to do this with blogging sisters too when we are down, or have something to celebrate and want our friends to know about it.
Friendships gained through blogging have far surpassed the realm of pen pals where we can share photos and instantly contact one another.
I hope you'll continue with your blog Dotsie even if you decide to post less, your friends will always be glad to see you put up a post and things will carry on from where they left off - much like they do with family you don't see all the time. :-)
    Enjoy the new year!

  12. Well said, Dotsie. Blogging can get to be a drag sometimes, but I always come back to it because of the connections I've made. Wishing you a most blessed 2015.

  13. Podso,
I can't bear the thought of you stopping your blog.
Many are the times you've touched my heart in warmth and friendship, dear one.
Watching you journey to your Mother's end has helped me to find peace as I am doing the same now.
If this be what lies ahead, I will accept, in good faith, what is needed in your life.
You will be greatly missed. . .
    Fondly,
    Pat

  15. Blog friends have pulled me out of the doldrums before and they've done it again. I hope you'll blog a long, long time. I have started up again - never intended to stop, but life got in the way in a big way! I treasure the connection. When I read about your fireplace I thought 'I know that fireplace!.....it connected us!'

  16. I have felt this way many times...at least changing up my blogging format in a way. But you're right...we do need the friendships we form in this very different way. We are in a new year, yet things have already taken a turn for us here. I would love your prayers, my friend.

  18. Beautiful sentiment. I do enjoy your blog. I stopped blogging once and even deleted my blog. I miss the old posts and pictures. Hate regret! From now on I'll just take a little break if I need to. :D

  21. So very true, forming attachments, becoming part of a circle. It's so good to know there are so many truly good people out there.

  22. Kudos on persevering! I appreciate what you share here and in comments on other blogs, although I don't blog myself. Much of my time has been overtaken by reading a variety of blogs, so I can only imagine the time and effort it takes to keep one up and running. Blessings to you in the new year.

  23. I love the old tarnished silver cup and the box. You did some nice editing on it. I'm thankful for you and the kind blogging friends I've met the past few years. Blessings.

  24. Oh I so agree with you, Dotsie. After the new year I was totally uninspired and then I found that poem. I knew I needed to share it. Like you said, it is pretty obvious that many others were feeling the same way. It does help to know that others have some of the same struggles and when can encourage each other, it makes what we are doing matter. I hope your new year is off to a great start :)
