While out and about yesterday, I came across this large round plate. Stunning in my eyes, the eyes of a Dutch descended girl. There was no markings on the back, it could be hand painted, and not so very new. It has a great shiny finish to it and delightful curves around it's circle, I love the deep blues.
I will use it--how is yet to be determined.
I will use it--how is yet to be determined.
But I will use it!
Any ideas about it?
That is a very pretty plate, it's so nice to find things that speak to us, isn't it. I am also a descendent of the Netherlands, many generations ago.

Love your Dutch plate, it'll be gorgeous on the Wall so you can admire it's lovely painting...it looks like it's by hand too. I love it! Have a nice week ahead dear friend.

It looks like Flow Blue, but what do I know? I think it makes a meaningful item of decor for your home and I really like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous plate, but I know so little about dishware.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea but it is quite pretty.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing Little One making use of a placemat! Love it when children are inventive with items other than toys.
Best,
Bonnie
Well, it's certainly pretty but looking at the back couldn't say if it is food grade or not. It would look nice hanging on the wall.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful plate Dotsie. I looks like it's quite old and possibly flow blue, as Vee said. It would look pretty on the wall or in a hutch. It's nice that it is representative of your family history.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty mystery. Look on eBay and see if you can find something like it. Defiantly wall worthy.
ReplyDeleteI love it. No knowledge to share, but I do love it!!!

B E A U T I F U L plate. My mother had some similar plates and I know I have at least one piece, but I am not sure where it is.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that lovely plate.
It looks like a Delft china plate, but with no markings on the back I'm not positive. I think it would look beautiful hung on the wall or placed in your china cabinet.
ReplyDeleteMy idea is that it is BEAUTIFUL!! It does look hand painted. I know nothing useful... only that I love it and I'm glad you found this happy piece! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteWell,it certainly is very pretty. I love blue and white. And by the looks of the back and with no marking, at least you know it wasn't made in China. :) Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteNot sure but sure is a stunner.

How lovely...and how perfect for your collection of blue and white! I am glad to know that you will use it. What good is something that cannot be used?
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely!
