back to school

A friend of mine had a lovely idea. We celebrated back to school with a delicious brunch
at her house. We didn't bring food, just school supplies. She will take what we brought
to a warehouse for teachers in who work in underprivileged areas. She volunteers there.
Teachers can come every few months and choose 12 items off the shelves.
She had such cute decorations (check out the paper table cloth!) I didn't take pictures of the
food but it was scrumptious. We all had a good time together--some women I hadn't
seen in years and it was great to catch up. A good time for a good cause.
And yes, these are napkins!

  1. Fun idea and any teacher/school would be happy to use those supplies. Shoot, I STILL love new school supplies and I neither teach nor have school children any more.

  8. What a wonderful idea! I know teachers will appreciate this extra help; when my hubby was teaching high school he was always buying things for the classroom as budgets were tight in the school district, and still are.

  9. Such a great idea. I don't think there's such a place in Canada (where teachers can go for school supplies.) The table decorations are wonderful - especially those napkins. Were you all tempted to practice cursive writing?

I LOVE this Brunch with a Purpose!!!
We "pack back packs" at our Church in early August and distribute them to area schools. I love the idea where the Teacher can come and choose 12 items for her classroom needs!!!
