I'm not sure this exactly meets the instructions for the photo challenge, but I thought I'd join in.
I like to stand in the same spot and change the angle of my camera to see how the view changes.
One thing to note is the hanging branch in the upper left of the photo,
and how it diminishes in size the more I crouch down to expand the foreground.
I have not altered these pics, and use my simple Canon point and shoot digital.
I changed my position at bit here to capture the wonderful
trees that line the gravel road.
Here's a bit of a dramatic bonus. See my previous post for more
on where these beautiful vistas are located.

Love the different looks with the different perspective. It's really interesting how much a photo can change just by dropping low to the ground. Beautiful road you chose.
ReplyDeleteOh I've missed a post. The scene really does change significantly. My very favorite photo is the first because I love road that seem to disappear and then show up again deeper in the photo. It always makes me want to travel that road, which reminds me, I'm going back to see what I've missed.
ReplyDeleteroadS or A road...either way, I blew it
ReplyDeleteI just came back from purchasing a memory card for my new Canon point and shoot. I want it for travel as the slr Canon is a bit unwieldy to tote around the country. I need to find a "subject" and try it out.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Hi Dotsie
ReplyDeleteI like the first photo as you can see fully the trees lining the road, except that pesky overhead branch. It does disappear in the last photo where you crouched down but the scene loses the effect with the trees cut off.
I can't tell you how many times I've been up on my toes to get the shot I want, let alone down in a crouch where I can't get back up. ;-)

Beautiful photos Dotsie. I love a gravel or dirt road in the country. Great shots and challenge.
ReplyDeleteThe very first photo is perfection...in my view! I like seeing way down the road with limbs in the view at the top and shadows across the road. It speaks to me...it makes me want to travel down that road and see where it leads. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat was so interesting! I wonder how much the picture would vary if you took the same picture at different times of the day with the sun at different angles. Love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love to take pictures, too. Sometimes I take them from different angles, too. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty...and it reminds us how just a change of perspective can totally change our views on things.
ReplyDeleteI know where this is without seeing the previous post...I have taught my kids about this place, one of the advantages of home schooling I got an educated also.
Great shots!
It looks nice and green over there, all grey and a bit dull over here.
ReplyDeleteMerle........
Your point and shoot is great! I like these kinds of things...the view from different angles.
ReplyDeleteDoing a lot of cooking tonight for the kids move in tomorrow.
Thanks for all of your sweet comments.

These are such inviting pictures! I especially love the first shot with the branch framing the photo and the road. I am also drawn to the house in your "dramatic bonus"...the one that also has trees/branches framing it. Great effects!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful examples! As you changed the view, the subject area changed. I think I like the first of the three initial ones best because of the overall framing of the scene.
ReplyDeleteAnd the bonus photos are a great treat! The octagon house looks a bit like Monticello. I'll have to peek at your previous post to find out the answer, LOL. I'm reading a book right now on Thomas Jefferson, and it is fascinating.
You did a wonderful job on the challenge!
The road is just lovely! What a beautiful place to live!
ReplyDeleteI love trees. My favorite shot is the last one along the edge of the line of trees. They look so majestic.

Beautiful! Like these very much. :)
ReplyDeleteYour photos have convinced me I only need a point and shoot camera!
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is really stunning - beautiful spot!
Love Leanne
Each one is an invitation to go farther down the road.
ReplyDeletePodso,
ReplyDeleteLove this concept in your photography, dear friend!!!
I adore the 'tree lined' photo. . .reminds me of the roads we traveld daily in Europe.
Fondly,
Pat
It is interesting to see the different perspectives of this road, Dotsie. My favorite view is the first photo, as it draws by eyes forward towards the horizon, and makes me want to see where the road goes.
ReplyDeleteKind of like life... it can look totally different from the same spot, but a new perspective. ;) love it. blessings ~ tanna
