end of year

So the 14 fit nicely in our dining room and we enjoyed a festive evening together
as we celebrated the end of a year of our mentorship group. I was thrilled that all the
flowers that made up the tiny bouquets in assorted jars were all from our garden.
We gave each girl a journal and we printed up menus "just for fun." I put
photos of them in tiny frames to make place cards.
We mentors all contributed to the meal and it was delicious.
We are all looking forward to next year and already making plans.
We might tackle some bread making and knitting among other things!

  1. I am always a little envious when I read about this group. They are so blessed to learn from you.

  2. A lovely table prepared by some special ladies. I'm sure everyone had a good time.

  3. I was a mentor for Apples of Gold several years ago. It's was a neat group.

Sounds like yours is special - great to celebrate with a dinner.

  4. How wonderful, both the meeting and the flowers! Nice cards too, specially with photos on them. A really cute idea.

    Have a great day!

  5. It looks and sounds lovely Dotsie. The flowers and the sweet journals are very pretty. I like your new header photo too. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Pam

  6. What a lovely way to wrap up the year with your group! I love that you're already making plans for the year to come. I just know that this group is a blessing to all who are involved, both the mentors and the mentored.

  7. It does look so lovely! And the flowers...sigh...

  8. Oh it looks wonderful! I'm sure that you all had a very pleasant time. Cute menu and sweet flowers.

  9. The table is lovely, Dotsie. I love the idea of a mentorship group - more churches and communities should enter into this.
I loved the post about your tiny granddaughters!

  10. It all looks wonderful, Dotsie. Passing down knowledge and wisdom from one generation to the other is such an important thing to do.

  11. As I am looking at the table of "mature" women I am thinking about the wisdom and graciousness there! I would have loved to have had a mentor! Podso, whoever you got to mentor was one blessed girl!

  12. What a wonderful group of friends - very special times I'm sure that everyone agrees!

Love how everything looks and the menu sounds wonderful!

  13. That sounds like a really interesting mentoring group and the place settings look very pretty. I'm sure the young women loved it.
    Hugs, Cindy

  14. Lucky ladies to be mentored by the likes of you. :) Sounds like it has been a wonderful year of sharing and learning. Best wishes, Tammy

  15. WOW! Beautiful table, so classy and lovely! And holy smokes your table holds a lot of diners! That's awesome, I would just love that.

My largest table holds 10 tops and that is a tight fit on the sides.

  16. What a great idea! Can you tell me more about your ages, how often you meet, what kinds of things you do? I'm wondering if I could adapt this someway for older missionary women to mentor younger missionary women.

I enjoy the conversations that come with comments!
