So far today is cold and dreary after a
day of rain. But there is spring beauty all around. I stopped to take this photo as I reminded myself that beauty is there if we look for it. Even in dreariness, (especially if there are spring blossoms)--even in an industrial area!
"What we see depends mainly on what we look for." So said John Lubbock, a British Statesman in the 1800s.
Beautiful blossoms. And so is the new spring look here on your blog.
ReplyDeleteThat swing, a good book and (soon) a glass of iced tea would suit me just fine.
ReplyDeleteHave a good and blessed weekend.
Best,
Bonnie
Those blooms are as good as sunshine. I tend to agree that we can find what we look for. I'm going to start looking for blossoms!
ReplyDeleteThe Japanese Cherry trees are beautiful, aren't they? I hope by now it is warmer and sunnier where you are, as it has turned off beautiful here today.
ReplyDeleteYou are very wise to look for the blossoms, even on the dreariest day. :) Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.
Denise
I can't see anything through all the dust we are having today. I would take a dreary day if we had green grass and trees in bloom. Even our green isn't really green and now all my plants are covered in a layer of ick. :/ Have a good day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI always keep my eyes wide open to the beauty that surrounds me.

There are many trees like that in Charlottesville. One street is lined with them. When Sarah's driving, I'm going to try to get a shot of them. They are a welcome sight.
ReplyDeleteAt David's last night, there were snowflakes the size of quarters or half-dollars. Today it feels like spring...maybe.
That is a good point! Not "positive thinking"...just looking through eyes of gratitude. I love your view!
ReplyDeleteSo true Dotsie. That is a beautiful sight indeed. Enjoy the weekend. Pam
ReplyDeleteThe trees never look prettier than now in early spring when they blossom. Clouds of pink and white here and there in the landscape, or whole rows of them. Makes my heart ache with the beauty of it all.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion to visit The Brick Street Bungalow. Loved her tribute to her aunties.
Beautiful...we can find beauty everywhere if we are patient and look. Today I looked out of the car window at freezing cold Lake Michigan and I realized, it's just as wonderful as it is in the summer if we just put aside our wishes for warm weather.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
We have nada blooming around a here yet - but it WILL happen soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, so true... blessings and hugs ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely photo and takes me back to the time our home was surrounded by orchards. I can only see what is in my memory these days. We are surrounded by white, shades of brown and grey...but Spring will come eventually I hope. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeletePodso,

Would love to see GREEN grass, once again, here on the Prairie!!!
My dearly beloved Grandmother always said, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"! She helped me to see the beauty in small things and everyday happenings!!!
