skyscapes

I had forgotten about Mary's prompt until today but have found myself gazing up at the sky and taking
pictures anyway.  It seems just days ago we were raking up leaves, and now they are back.
I love looking up at the "leafing in" at the top of trees set against the sky,
especially when it is as deeply blue as it was last Saturday.
This is what you call "carolina blue."
This was yesterday; more blue and more leaves in. The cherry blossoms have started.
This morning the cherry blossoms seem in full bloom and more leaves since yesterday
but the blue sky is gone as we are expecting some big storms later today.
This is a perfect day to view the sky as the sun pops out for a minute and then clouds roll
past ... definitely unsettled but interesting to watch.
Lastly, per Mary's hope, the cloudy sky reflected against city buildings.

Please go visit Mary's Little Red House to see more sky views.

  1. Great capture on that last picture Dotsie!! Wow! Yes, it is funny that we both said Carolina blue. :) You know, when we went to England, I saw some pretty skies over there, but when I got home, it was spring here and I realized that there's just nothing quite like these blue skies.

I love your pictures -- have a great day!

  2. I've never heard it called Carolina blue - but it's a lovely name. Blue skies like those in your first photos make my heart swell with emotion. So beautiful.
Great capture of the sky reflected in the building!

  3. Beautiful photos and I love the cherry blossom one. Too bad they don't bloom that long. They are so pretty.

  5. Beautiful spring skies Dotsie! It looks so nice there. The skies have been blue for two days here but that storm is headed our way tomorrow night. Guess we'll have to wait a few days to see the sun and blue again. Pamela

  6. Carolina blue is a nice hue, I've never heard our skies called anything in particular. I'll have to remember that shade and compare it to what we have.
Good for you to find the sky reflected in the building; great photo.

  8. I love the bright blue sky and the cherry blossoms in your photo. We had a foot of snow on Tuesday so everythig here went dormant again. I hope that you don't get the same storm!

  11. Don't you just love the blue skies of spring as backdrop for those glorious pink blossoms! I don't mind the rain and the cloudy days when I know that more blue sky and blossoms will follow.

  14. That perfect sharp deep blue sky is wonderful! I can feel there's still a little crispness in the air.
We are getting those skies too now as Autumn wraps around us and lets us know that our wonderful Summer has said goodbye!
The sky reflection in the glass tower is superb!

  18. Lovely pictures, Podso! I like to see how advanced Spring is in different places. We are just barely popping out and it's been sleeting all day. Last weekend I got great shots of that blue sky with pussy willows and a sugarhouse. Enjoy yourself!

  19. Great shots - Thanks for sharing with us. Love shots of the clear blue sky.
No sky writing in my pics. The vapor trails are common around here, and my water mark of the name of my blog kinda/sorta looks like sky writing does it not. :D
    Enjoy your weekend.
