A simple dinner on my sister's porch.
I think she loves her Johnson Brothers Indies pattern now as much as the day
38 years ago when she registered for it. I know I do.
It looks like it might be tacos tonight.
Sometimes a simple candle or oil lamp is the best centerpiece of all,
Her salads are a thing of beauty, and tasty too.
Please see Between Naps on the Porch for more wonderful tablescapes!
I love the blue and white of the dishes. They look so fresh. A perfect meal. Beautiful table.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your table, and lunch looks good too.
ReplyDeleteLunch on the porch with 2 ft of snow here sounds wonderful!
Love the porch setting ... couldn't survive without my sun porch in the dead of winter! Blue and white makes a beautiful tablescape ... loving those pictures of the kiddos, too! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love blue and white dishes!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely. I like the oil lamp in the middle of the table.
Smiles,
Dottie
I love this crisp blue and white table! Those dishes...oh, those dishes! I can see why you all love them so.
ReplyDeleteI think this post points out the importance of picking something classic and not a fad because your sister loves this pattern all these years later. That's how I am about my fine china. I really love it. I can mix it with a variety of accents, and that makes me happy. I switched out my every day (a friend gave me pieces for birthday and Christmas), and I just love the blue and white pattern I got to replace my old stuff. I never, ever get tired of it.
Thanks for sharing, Podso, and seeing the oil lamp makes me want to get mine out and use it.
Happy Tablescape Thursday to you...
XO,
Sheila :-)
You words and photos make me just want to be there, too, Dotsie! Meals on the porch... ahhh...
ReplyDeleteLook forward to hearing whether you will be shopping for blue or pink! ;)
Podso,
ReplyDeleteLife just doesn't get any better than time spent with family. Your sisters table is lovely. Simple and refreshing. I could see the focus here is on what is most important. . .family, conversation, lingering. Enjoy!
Fondly,
Pat
Blue and white dinnerware is such a timeless look. Dinner with a sister on the porch is priceless. I wish my sisters were close enough that we could do this often.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Beautiful dishes! The patio chairs look interesting, too.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Dotsie, & I love your lighting!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely day,
Zuzu
Completely charming. I'd definitely need the lantern because this is a tablescape that would find me still sitting and enjoying the moment long after sunset. Thank you for sharing this delightful design. Cherry Kay

Such a fresh, pretty setting! What a joy to be able to eat out on the porch...especially this time of year! I think this is my first visit to your blog via Tablescape Thursdays. I joined TT back in September of 2010 when I first started blogging, and I try very hard to get around to everyone's post every week. I have no idea how I might have missed yours. :-( At any rate, glad to have found you. Have a wonderful weekend!
