thawing out

Southerners don't tolerate winter for long. (I, as a "notherner," enjoy a good cold spell.) Of course there's nothing they can do about it anyway. But after a couple weeks of frigid temperatures and two days of rain, spring peeked her head into our neighborhood this week. Three days of near 60 degrees and people are out celebrating in shorts. I notice daffodil shoots pushing up through the soil.

Clear blue skies and the warm sun call me out to walk. It's definitely weather to notice and be thankful for. Of course winter will be back, but today is today.

  1. Absolutely true! A little cold is refreshing, but more is downright annoying. Some daffodils are pushing up here as well.

  2. We are still waiting for a refreshing cold spell but it hasn't it way over here this year. I haven't been able to wear any of my thick scarves and heavy sweaters. Definitely walking weather -- and this is the time of year that everything blooms as the summers are way too hot. Enjoy the warmer weather. Blessings, Tammy

So cool that I saw you working on this blog entry...Will there be a "Jack" entry?

  4. Hi! We don't have any daffodils coming up yet in Western Massachusetts! We've just had 3 days above freezing and they felt tropical, except for the snow that kept falling. I just discovered your blog and am loving it. You write beautifully! Your new follower, Sherry

  5. Definitely.
Spring has peeked into our days but Winter is still going to hang out with us!

  6. Oh gosh....60 degrees and shorts! That's way too cold for shorts where I come from. Isn't if funny how relative things can be! But sunshine is always good to see...

I enjoy the conversations that come with comments!
