"Difficulty is the very atmosphere of miracle in its first stage. If it is to be a great miracle, the condition is not difficulty, but impossibility."
~ Lilias Trotter, who lived 1853-1928
Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. I was looking for your email, but since I didn't find one, I thought I'd respond here.
First, thanks for letting me know about the brownies. I never know quite how much chocolate chips folks like in their brownies -- so I leave that decision up to the chef... but I guess "to taste" doesn't quite make sense ;-)
Second, I would love to see the cinnamon apple cake of yours... do you have a recipe link?
There are so many wonderful quotes from Lilias Trotter...I wonder how you can chose one! I am so enjoying reading A Blossom in the Desert...at first I tried zipping through it, and I did flip through every page to see the artwork, but then I settled into reading a page a day...there is so much to ponder and discover in even her simplest offerings. I keep finding more when I look again.
Many things that are difficult right now ....prayers including your family. I will pray this for what seems hard, difficult and a great miracle. Thanks for this wonderful quote that is pregnant with hope. I just picked up a Ruskin book after leaving your house and thought of Lilias.
I love this quote! Thanks so much for sharing!
