We capture moments of beauty in our hearts when we sometimes least expect it.
Just as we come across encouragement, wisdom, inspiration, good ideas
or "aha" moments as we read blog posts.
I'm wishing right now I could remember all I've learned
from other blogs. Recommended books,
recipes, craft ideas, home improvements...
I've probably incorporated some of them into our lives
so much so that I forget where I learned them.
Rhondi, who sometimes blogs at Rose Colored Glasses,
gave me the idea to rub a little chapstick on winter cracks
on my thumbs. It blocks the air which causes so much pain.
It works! I've been grateful for that little tip many times over.
We will always be grateful to Pondside who
sent us an inspiration photo and suggested a full surround
rather than just a mantle for our tired fireplace, now five years ago.
And there's so much more ….
How about you?
I am constantly getting inspiration from my blog friends. Like you, I wish I could remember them all. Have a great St. Patty's day.
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by your service to your church community and love hearing about the mentoring group. I also love your photos. You have an eye for zeroing in on what is important (figuratively and literally!) I think we are influenced in one way or another by each other's blogs without even knowing it often times. Bits and pieces are collected in our "data banks" and when all put together something new is created.
ReplyDeleteI've received so much inspiration and encouragement from blogging. Like you, I can't remember where some of that came from but I am most grateful to all!!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Ok I love that chapstick tip ! I beat up my hands alot when hand sewing / this might do the trick! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree! There are so many things I do now directly as a result of dear bloggers. Coming up today is an Irish tea bread and thanks to MGCC, I often bake paska at Easter time. Honora has excellent taste! That surround is a beauty. Oh and I have had gardening advice, life advice, spiritual guidance...yes, my life is "richer, fuller, deeper" as a direct result of my blogging friends whom God has brought my way.
ReplyDeleteI have also learned a lot from other bloggers from decorating ideas to photography tips to recipes. Too numerous to mention and even remember though. Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteBlogs are always fun to read, I just run out of time!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I am so grateful to my blogging friends! They have such great inspiration - I agree that the full surround on your fireplace is so much better than just a mantel! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am liking your header with the pretty blooms and blue sky!
Podso,
ReplyDeleteI, totally, agree, dear friend!
I created my blog out of encouragement and inspiration for others!
Instead, my friends in The Land Of Blog have encouraged and inspired me!
Thank you for sharing this post of shared moments!
Fondly,
Pat
Recipes, book reviews, ideas, spiritual reminders...they are all such a part of this worldwide community.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely true, Dotsie. Although I have been inspired in many ways from my fellow bloggers, the main thing I think I have learned (and am still learning) is that online friendships are REAL and that we really do care about one another! I would have never believed this before I started blogging. Great post :)
ReplyDeleteYou've written the truth, Dotsie. I think of the blogging community as similar to the gatherings of women in other times who shared encouragement, recipes, ideas, and advice. We have so much collective knowledge and wisdom. Your fireplace surround does look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOne of the best is the friendships made through blogging. True friendships thought most I have not met in person. Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteYour post is so relevant, Dot. We often glean ideas from others, even subconsciously. We can also Pin ideas. There is such a wealth of information on the Internet but there is a bit more personal warmth in reading blogs and getting inspiration. Thanks for the insightful thoughts.

Wonderful post. I'm just back from France where I am amazed that palm trees grow in a blustery, cold windy environment. What a grand photo that is. Have a grand weekend!
ReplyDeleteBloggers are like a group of women meeting to quilt or sew and talk about life, recipes etc. Except that now with computers and technology we can meet globally to learn from each other and have great discussions.
ReplyDeleteThe mantel project turned out well, glad Honora was able to suggest a solution.
I am most thankful for the genuine concern and advice I get all the time from my blog friends. I've found new Christian novels to read, new meds or or helpful vitamins, love, love, love the new recipes I pich up here and there. Mostly just love the friendship.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Sunday!
It's so true, Dotsie. Rhondi's blog was one of the first I followed and I learned a lot about colour and decoration from her. Right now, as I write, a pot of Boeuf Bourguignon Soup bubbles on the stove - from blogger Le Cafe Sucre Farine.
ReplyDeleteSo very happy that i found your blog!
ReplyDeleteNice greetings from austria your new follower

I agree wholeheartedly! Ihave learned so much from all the blogs I've read through the years, and it is nice to "know" so many people around the US and the world. I feel very enriched by all the blog friendships I have.
ReplyDeleteThere are many times I have been inspired or taken the advice of other bloggers. It seems we all have a different way of living life. It's wonderful to learn from other bloggers and to experiment with new ideas. I particularly enjoy the glimpses other bloggers give into their way of making a house a comfortable home.
