the season has arrived

"'Tis the season" seems to have arrived in a big rush this year with our American Thanksgiving being so late in the month. It's almost time to flip the calendar page and December will be here.  I try to get our decorations up right after Thanksgiving so we have four weeks to enjoy them--since it's a lot of work--or seems more so each year!

I appreciate help putting the ornaments on the tree and this year when the grandchildren were here for Thanksgiving they became my little assistants.

I assume there will be a density of ornaments at the bottom of the
tree but not so much this year. It was all about climbing
the ladder, and they took turns going up with a fistful of ornaments.
It was a busy day.
At the end of the day after everyone has left, I actually enjoy cleaning
up the kitchen. I turn on some music, organize the mess,
take my time, and find it all relaxing.

Joining Monday Mosaics.

  3. Good grief, you are more than welcome to come over and relax yourself cleaning up my Thanksgiving kitchen! :) I was sooo tired, and then had a few things to tidy when I got up. We had lots of helpers, and so there wasn't a big clean up. My little grandchildren came and helped me as well. I felt just the same way, it was a lot of work, but so worth it! My computer is finally fixed and I am able to visit again. I hope to post for the first time in a long time, tomorrow. It was good to stop by...

  4. I love the photo of the littles dressing the tree. Time does seem to be rushing by these days so it's nice to enjoy the tree and all the decorations as long as we can. Great black and white of the aftermath! ♥

  5. Our tree is up and I have the house pretty much decorated. A few things here and there, I still want to do. My tea is tomorrow night and then, I can check one more event off my busy schedule.

    You have darling helpers!

  7. I just finished decorating my house today. I didn't put out as much as I usually do because I was thinking about how much work it was to put it all away in a few weeks! I do leave some of it up--anything that is "wintery." We won't get our tree until next weekend, though, so I'm not quite done yet.

  9. It's looking very Christmasy at your house. What fun for the little ones, getting to decorate the tree, and using a ladder too. I agree with you that music and cleaning can make a very relaxing combination.

  11. Hello, it is wonderful you have your sweet helpers with the Christmas tree decorating. Since I do most of the cooking, hubby does a lot of the dishes. Thanksgiving seems to be the only time we use our dishwasher. Adorable photos! Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!

  12. What fabulous helpers. Looks like they are getting those ornaments up the tree, rather than just along the bottom. I miss having the little ones around to help with the season. They all grew up!

  14. You're onto something! I May have to get some grands over here. And I also like the idea of music and enjoying the process instead of reacting as if doing dishes and straightening up were dreaded chores. I have dishes to do...gonna try it out!

  15. That's what I like about our early Thanksgiving in October, we can get the Christmas things out in early November to enjoy as long as possible. Your tree is lovely and all the helpers, my, it must have been done in no time.
I meant to get back to you Dotsie about your observation of how well my iPhone takes photos compared to the DSLR - not much difference is there? For most of my everyday indoor photos I'm using the phone constantly but do like the bigger camera for outdoors.

  16. You have great helpers and the tree will look fabulous when they are done. I haven't done any decorating yet, just moving furniture and getting ready to decorate. Enjoy the season.

  19. What a lot of fun you had decorating the tree with your helpers. They look like they are right into getting it done just so! It is nice to have that time at the end of the day to ponder and think while cleaning up.

  20. Aww...I wish my little grands in Nashville were close enough to be able to enjoy visits like that. I can remember when my boys were little and we used to go to Jim's parent's house and have a big tree trimming party. They will always cherish those times! Sweet, sweet post!
