We enjoyed a day at the Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Masterpieces of art and nature mixed together naturally
in horticultural gardens and sculpture parks.
Autumn colors were peaking and gave a wonderful setting for it all.
Of course I enjoyed the children's area the most.
In each mosaic there is one image from the children's park.
I think you can easily guess which ones.
I'll be back another day with my favorite sculpture.
Gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteI love the primary colored ring thing in one of the pics - of course, I love anything with primary colors.
Beautiful! What a lovely place to spend a fall day!

How gorgeous it is there and you captured it beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is beautiful, Dotsie - card-worthy!! That looks like the sort of place I'd love to spend a fall afternoon too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely garden to enjoy, Dotsie. The sculptures are beautiful. This looks like just the right place to enjoy on an autumn afternoon. ♥
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collages, vibrant colors, and charming children's elements. I like your header, too!
ReplyDeletedon't mind me...didn't see that my first comment went through.
ReplyDeleteI love these gardens and sculptures, Dotsie! They remind me of Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina -- it has a children's section, too. It looks like you had a nice visit to Michigan; do you have family there? Was it cold when you were there? I hope you've enjoyed the fall colors here in N.C.; it sounds like the leaves are putting on a show all over the country this year.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Dotsie!!
Hugs,
Denise

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful day and beautiful photos. We are thinking of going during Thanksgiving weekend. Something we have been wanting to do for a while. Pretty shot of the horse sculpture which looks tiny in the photo!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. You must have enjoyed the garden walk so much!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful garden! It has been a warm and lovely autumn in so many parts of the country this year.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful park and gardens. I like the archways and sculptures.
ReplyDeleteWow! Your pictures looks so beautiful! I like those gates very much and I think that park looks so good in summer too! Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteThose photos from the children's area are full of whimsy and fun, just the ticket to get a child interested in the gardens. It looks like a wonderful place to visit.
ReplyDeleteSuch a bright and beautiful post . And I love love love knowing that I'm not the only " grownup" who loves children's gardens. I have enjoyed those sections in many horticultural parks during our travels. At first, I used to feel a little sad that I didn't have a grandchild with me to share it with, but I don't worry about that any longer (now that I am a really really old grownup ;)))
ReplyDeleteFrom the rustic arched entry to the fall displays and statues, what a fabulous place. Children's gardens are always a big item at Canada Blooms, after all they are tomorrow's gardeners.
