Last night a breeze came up.
And today we woke to cool, clear, dry air.
A change in the weather. Smiles abound.
Windows open,we hear the clink of dishes
and chatter of voices from neighbor houses.
And before we know it, "color" will arrive.
"Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn."
Our weather has been cooler.. We are seeing some of the leaves turning, but it is slow... Lovely images, have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteWe had a real change last evening, got very cold, following 80's days before, this morning it was not even 37' when I left for church. Have a lovely week~
ReplyDeleteyou were smiling and opening your windows and it got so cold here so quickly I was closing mine! :) Love that deep blue water...
ReplyDeleteLovely! Emma has been longing for Autumn to begin down there! She was really enjoying the weather yesterday.

Lovely images. I think the sky gets bluer with the change of season. I've enjoyed the "cooler" weekend, but it will be back to hot and humid tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo to remind us to not only stop and smell the roses but to also pause and watch the leaves turn!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very welcomed change in weather. A breeze came up here too, but brought snow with it. :-( Enjoy your cooler temps. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes it did! Our high was only 73 today so we went hiking this afternoon. It was amazing...breezy and cool for a very nice change! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead and see some pretty color soon! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteAutumn's beautiful color is so welcome. We've had a return to warm summer temperatures this weekend. So lovely. The quote you used is one of my favourites. Have a wonderful week, Dotsie.
ReplyDeleteI like your photos, Dotsie! This really is a glorious time of the year, isn't it? We just love autumn at our house. :) We've been up on the Blue Ridge Parkway again this afternoon, and I thought about you. Hope all is well at your house and have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Denise
fabulous black and white and yellow tree!
ReplyDeleteAfter a glorious week of Indian Summer, our temperatures are plummeting once again. It would appear our autumn colours have peaked and are now drifting to the ground.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can capture your colours to share Dotsie.
I love your pictures. They tell a story.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good at 'sitting'. It's something I'm trying to learn.
Sounds like beautiful Autumn has arrived. I love the season. The doll .. Or mannekin ... Outside the vintage shop I wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, lucky you. Not here. Not yet. Another week of heat. But hovering at the 100 mark. Still too hot for my liking, but those tripld digits really do me in. Last night, Greg and I ran a quick errand...for a pulled pork sandwich at Wendy's...and it was 96 at 6:15 PM!! Crazy.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!!!

We've had some great weather in Texas for several days...forecast is summer for today. That means at least the 90s.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, that wonderful quote... :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy October,
Tessa~

I love the quote from Elizabeth Lawrence too. We are not seeing much color here yet but it sure was cool over the weekend and this morning...still going to get to 80 one day this week.
ReplyDelete☺Did you mean to say "dry air" instead of "dry hair"? If not, "dry air" is equivalent to "dry hair" for MY hair. I love it that the humidity is gone for the year. Did you find anything in the Vintage shop?
ReplyDeleteI love that quote....and I love the fresh crisp cool air.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you southerners and the cooler weather you are now experiencing. It must be such a relief from the heat and humidity. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh, this weather has been glorious...the best of the year!! I am so ready to "sit and watch the leaves turn"...
ReplyDeleteSuch an inviting mosaic of a walk around the waterside - the Palms hint of the tropics.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how you did your last photo - very clever Dotsie!
I'm loving the cool weather, too. I have all the doors and windows open to get fresh air in!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your good wishes on my surgery. I'm doing pretty well! :)
