gathering October

This past October seems a confusing month to me … at the beginning we were at the
end of a visit to family down further south, which included our annual
tradition of breakfast at the pier and time with our sweet great nieces and nephews.
Back home, we had our first mentor gathering with a new group
of young women that we'll meet with for the next two years.
Then full-fledged preparations for surgery, and when all was ready,
a colorful day in the mountains before my new knee got installed.
The last ten days are a bit of a blur as I recover from surgery.
We've enjoyed a last gathering of wonderful tomatoes,
an autumn surprise to grace our salads.
I look forward to next month when I'll be getting back to
normal and we celebrate the giving of thanks.

  5. It sounds like a wonderful time with family. Such beautiful sunlight on the water. Glad that knee replacement is behind you and in another month the therapy will be also, for the most part, right? You'll be all set for Christmas for sure. Love your sweet family photos.

  7. It always amazes me at how varied a month can be. I keep a journal and sometimes it doesn't seem possible that so much was going on at the same time. I hope you heal quickly. Take care and keep resting! Sweet hugs, Diane

  9. It has been quite the whirlwind month for you, Dotsie!! I love your collection of photos recording it all. Fresh tomatoes at the end of October is a treat.
Continue to work hard at your therapy, but not at anything else. Rest, relax, restore. Hugs...

  12. What a wide range of "activities" you've had this month! Getting a new knee, despite the pain and trouble, must be high on the list of what was good about the month. I'm trying to see all of life from that viewpoint from the get go--not just after the results are in. Thank you for setting such a good example! ☺

  14. Hello Podso, I'm so glad your new knee has not turned out to be the scary painful thing you were worried about. Hard work, yes, but you can handle that. May the healing continue apace, and your body adjust with the therapy. Soon all will be well. I hope you are getting in some good reading time and enjoying some good novels while you rest and recover. Blessings to you!

  16. Such a varied list of activities. I can see that it would be a bit disconcerting to "lose" those 10 days to surgery recovery. Hope that the healing continues.
