today

I planned to mow the lawn and clean up leaves today, but instead a slow, steady, gentle rain arrived. I am delighted to be home today. I got the porch cleaned and ready for winter, but as I did so I could not help but marvel at the beauty of the leaves on such a gray day. I've always felt they are maybe even more striking when the sun is not bright. Out came my camera. It's been such a beautiful autumn, but I'm guessing the leaves will begin to fall quickly now.

  1. They are beautiful. I agree with you about how good they look on un-sunny days.

  2. I hope you are now curled up in a comfortable chair at that window reading a good book! I've been out and about on wet colorful leaves for several days now. It's as if they shine more when they've been cleansed.

    Best,

  4. SO Beautiful! I do know that after all the gorgeous colors, the leaves will soon be gone and just the stark branches will be left. It has been a lovely autumn.

  5. Such beautiful color still. Your rain is coming here tonight and tomorrow but it will be quite warm for November. I heard the weather gal on CTV say that when the leaves hang on the trees for a long time it means a hard winter. We'll see. It's nice to have things neat and tidy in the yard and on porches before winter settles in. I hope you have a nice weekend. Pamela

Beautiful fall photo. We had rain today too and the leaves are really falling. I had to run errands but wanted so badly to be curled up listening to the rain.
    Have a great weekend!

  14. Oh, you live in a cove, or as my Gary would say, a court. I didn't know.

    :)

So glad you've had some time off to recoup. And your photo is so pretty...the colors are perfect.

  15. Podso,
I love how "Mother Nature" changes our "game plan" and gives us time to stand in awe at this , truly, wonderful world in which we live! I'll be doing "Porch Fluffing" after work today in preparation for next week's guests here On Crooked Creek!
    Fondly,
