I collect pitchers and have always been attracted to one shape in particular. Can you guess?
Since we packed up the house for new carpet, it's been a good but busy
time to get everything really clean, including these girls.
Here is my favorite shape. Not sure why, I just think it's lovely.
Even when she's old with age-crackles.
This little lady's shape is nice as well...very different ...her nose isn't all that graceful.
Back they go to watch over the dining room, shiny and clean, and I'll keep on with my unpacking.
It's just like moving!
You are right == clearing out a room for carpet or painting means you touch everything in it....to take out and then put back. It IS like moving only with less expense.
ReplyDeleteThe green dish in my post today is Harker Ware Pate sur Pate -- I have a lot of it but rarely use it.
I love that the edging looks as if it's been crocheted on, so different.
I peeked back into your Polka Dotzi blog -- found the recipe for Krummer Torte -- LOVE that it's written in an address book. Waste not, want not, right?
Those ladies who came before us -- they were amazing.

Yes, I love that shape pitcher too. Reminds me of the water pitchers at our old church dinners...
ReplyDeleteA good cleaning is a wonderful thing. I am trying to purge too, as my house is too full for comfort. Not to mention not too clean around the edges. I did pack up my Harlequin Ware dishes after taking pictures, so I can post them on Craig's List. Hoping to do the same with a ton of other stuff. Have fun moving back in!
Hugs,
Sherry
A lovely collection, I have a collection as well but I call them jugs :)
ReplyDeleteI love that shape, too, Dotsie. Pitchers of that design... and bowls. I'm not sure what the appeal is, but it is pretty darn strong. You have such a beautiful collection. After all this carpeting business is done, you are going to feel like you have a fresh start. I think I would enjoy that, too. (but lots of work to get there!) blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI have an odd little pitcher collection, so I enjoyed looking at your graceful white ladies. Perhaps I should have some big thing done to the house so that I could get everything shining at one time!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love creamers and pitchers too, they do have great shapes and yours do, they're so lovely! How's little one, I haven't seen her in a while, I miss her!! Changing any floor is like moving out and later in! Enjoy your move back! Lots of hugs. FABBY
ReplyDeleteI love to collect things too.
ReplyDeleteI have a very large collection of blue willow ware and I can never say no to vintage holiday decorations.

I love those white pitchers. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI admire your little pitchers; that is a very pleasing shape indeed. And of course, their miniature size makes them doubly adorable. Isn't it fun packing and unpacking and making everything all neat and tidy and pretty again? It's a wonderful way to spend one's time!
ReplyDeleteI think your pitchers are beautiful! It feels good to move things about, clean them and put them back. I like your new banner too. Blessings, Pamela
