color feast
It might be me, but I think this autumn has been the most spectacular fall we've seen in years. The colors took awhile coming, but once finally here, they have been fabulous.
The red, brown, yellow, gold, and orange set against the still green leaves or the ever present green pines have been a sight to behold. Add in the mix our deep blue skies --- or even a gray day ... either background shows off the vibrant leaf colors like shiny jewels.
Maybe it's because I've been so busy this season, and have been driving to my mother's each day, but the time in the car looking at all the color has been a true feast for my eyes and for my soul.

It was a glorious autumn. I think the colors were outstanding.
ReplyDeleteI wanted you to know I made your pumpkin and black bean soup. Wonderful!

I agree, it is a spectacular, feast-for-the-eyes fall. It does feed the soul, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe colors and the layering in your last photo are beautiful. We still have more color than usual this late. There's one blazing orange tree at the end of the driveway that I look forward to every time I go out.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
I agree with you...it took awhile for the leaves to change, but it has been spectacular! I truly love fall. Beautiful photos.

You are fortunate...while in New England for most of the month of October it was very disappointing this year...very little color. The leaves turn brown instead of the brilliant reds/oranges/yellows. I think the dry summer had something to do with it.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Seems like all the vibrant colors popped out overnight. Gorgeous pics!
ReplyDeleteI think you are so right. Earlier I thought the annual fall color show was a flop so I stopped looking and then everything exploded. It's been a nice November. Hope you've enjoyed too. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'd like my accent. What's not to like about a southern (Virginia's Piedmont) accent with a good dose of Valley Girl, Texan and mid-west mixed in?
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to catch up with old friends. Glad you had a good time. Also hope he wasn't traveling I-77 around Fancy Gap on his way to you. I've been there when it was breath-takingly beautiful and when it was so foggy one could have walked faster than drove.
Best,
Bonnie
I agree that it seemed to take a long time to arrive but this autumn has been spectacular! We haven't even had a frost as yet! I'm hoping for a mild winter --
ReplyDeletewe'll see! :)
My breath has been taken away multiple times while driving down our city's roads this past week. The gold, the rust, the amber, the deep red. They're all amazing.
