on the fence

I love fences. Maybe it's the repeat pattern, or the idea of a tidy enclosure ... I'm not sure why,
but I'm drawn to fences and love to photograph them. And when they are fences such as these,
all taken in Charleston, SC, it is fun to have a peek inside.
I smile when plants and flowers make their way outside a fence to say hello.
Right now our little granddaughter is "on the fence" about which day she wants to be born.
Will it be today?

As soon as I saw your pictures, I thought of Charleston and I was right. I took a zillion pictures of the wrought iron fences everywhere. So elegant!

  7. Podso,
    Great subject matter, dear friend!!!
The fences of Charleston are so intriquing!
I had to chuckle as we have vinca growing at the base of the West fence..."Mr. Ed" is constantly poking it back through into our garden side of the yard! :)
Too, too cute analogy of your granddaughter's upcoming arrival..."on the fence"!!!
Have a blessed and glorious Easter, dear friend!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  8. I really like the looks of a white picket fence but next to them is a wrought iron as I always want to see what's on the other side.
I'll be looking for an announcement any day now on your blog. :-)

  12. Love your fences and the view behind the first one.
I'm drawn to fences too - I think it is the repetition and symmetry, very pleasing to the eye.
I like the flowers breaking the rules and popping their heads through the barrier for a peek outside!!
I big welcome to your new granddaughter when she arrives.
    Happy Easter

  14. Fences complete a house they don't look finished if not fenced.
