summer crepes

The hotter it gets here in summer, it seems the more vibrantly the crepe myrtles bloom.
At least they like the heat. I was struck by this scene outside the facility
where my mother lives. Crepes are nicely framing the gazebo in a lovely pink!

  5. Maybe it's because I'm trying to stay away from treats, but when I read the title of your post I was SURE that it was going to be all about Strawberry or Blueberry Crepes!

  7. The crepe myrtles are amazing, aren't they? I always admire them in the Texas heat... they shine while other fade and wilt. Just gotta love that.

  8. They are beautiful. Here in the south the hotter it gets the more they bloom and the darker the
    color of the flowers become.

I wish we could grow these shrubs here, they are so pretty when in bloom. The view you captured is lovely.

  10. I love a gazebo! Surrounded by flowers even more! Her in CA crepe myrtles are a common sight (because -as yo said - they like the heat!)

  13. I really love crepe myrtles! I was so impressed by them on my first visit to the south as a child, and wanted my parents to grow one. They don't survive with our harsh winters.

Special prayers going up for both of us tomorrow!
