I couldn't help but snap a few pictures of some glorious old houses in a small Pennsylvania town.
Some larger than others, all old, but all wonderful to my eyes.
Interesting porches seem to be a theme; they were certainly needed in the days
before air conditioning. (These houses probably still don't have central air.)
A feast for my eyes, taken through the car window, on a cloudy day.
Sharing today at Mary's Mosaics on Monday at Little Red House.
Yes, and as interesting as they are to see outside, I so want to take the tour through the homes, don't you? I want to see what the turret room is like and how the various juts and angles play out in interior decorating. What fun that would be!
ReplyDeletePodso,
ReplyDeleteElegant in their day and today, as well! I adore walking tours in towns where "Painted Ladies" abound. sometimes, during holidays, they are opened for home tours...even better to get a glimpse inside! Thanks for sharing!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Love the old house! The first one is my favorite, the colors are wonderful! Have a great day, Laura
ReplyDeleteI love old houses - these are gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying a great weekend, Dotsie!

Sleeping porches, verandas, cellars and shady trees - I guess those were the ways to keep cool in days past. Perhaps life didn't need to move as quickly as it does today, and people could stop and cool down.
ReplyDeleteThe houses are all so lovely - souvenirs of a time when life was a little slower.
Beautiful, Podso. Yes, those Victorians really knew how to do porches...these homes are all so wonderful and I wish I lived in that green one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Dotsie. Just beautiful. Your photos are always grand. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful..thanks for sharing. I have been enjoying going through little towns in Texas and admiring the beautiful old homes...they truly don't make them like that anymore
ReplyDeleteI love looking at old homes and you have shared some beauties. The first one is just gorgeous! Have a great week! Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteHello Dotsie
ReplyDeleteThese houses have character, besides being gorgeous with a verandah like I dream of having.
Thanks for sharing them.
Judith
Fun to see these beautifully preserved homes!
ReplyDeleteThese houses look grand and different from each other.
ReplyDeleteoh wow so amazing. From another era but still blooming.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
Wonderful old homes growing more beautiful with the years. Such elegance differs greatly from many modern homes that are so square and featureless. I'd love to tour the insides as well.
ReplyDeleteThe first house--the painted lady Victorian--was stunning! Imagime living in a house such as this? I know I'd fall in love with all its "nooks and crannies." I love all the front porches...so charming.
ReplyDeleteWow what beautiful homes. Their each so different. I would love to live in any one of them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this wonderful feast, Dotsie!! Oh, I love these Grand Old Girls!! So elegant and regal. Just love 'em!! Thank you again. blessings ~ tanna
