I'm by nature one who likes to get her work done and then sit down to relax (if that time ever comes.) Maybe that makes me "type A," but there is such a good feeling when the house is finally clean that I just want to get it all finished in one "fell swoop." Then I sit back and just enjoy the feeling of clean. Ah, such a simple thing that brings such joy! The question is, why is it only for a few brief moments that it feels so clean? How quickly it passes and little by little the dust bunnies return.
I'm also in a subtle way showing off a favorite GW purchase for 45 cents. I rarely find such a treasure there, like others seem to be able to do. Maybe I need to go more often! And maybe I need to learn to sit before it's clean! :-)
I definitely think it is the Tye A factor that kicks in. I am a borderline B. Even if I think everything is clean, there is always something I feel I should be doing besides relaxing. I have to maintain a sense of stubborness that I deserve to just sit quietly!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of your mug!

This image conjures up such wonderful peaceful ideas! I love to rock on the porch. Your GW find is my kind of mug. Substantial... one that would hold some serious morning coffee.

This is amazing! I was thinking of this very thing as I cleaned our place this morning. I feel like once it's clean, it doesn't stay that way for long. But oh, how I love sitting in the clean. I like to clean in one fell swoop too, but it rarely happens. Big chunks of cleaning rather. Love the mug... teal, of course!
ReplyDeleteI love to sit in a clean room, especially since we so rarely have one!
ReplyDeletePS love your new Tumblr theme! Or maybe it's not new, just haven't seen it. Very pretty and "you." :)
ReplyDeleteOh, if you could see my house this week! With the kitchen reno there is dust from one end to the other and it's driving me nuts! Oh well, by the weekend I'll be able to do a big spring cleaning. I love your rocking chair and that great mug. Turquoise is my current favorite colour. Ignore the dust bunnies and relax with your cuppa java or tea and read. The dust will wait. Mine sure is. Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, and I never find the treasures at GW that others come up with---maybe I should go more than twice a year! :)
ReplyDeletePretty mug! Looks like Fiestaware, least the handle reminds me of that.
Hugs, sugar-pie!
I love a clean house, but it never stays clean long enough to suit me. I cleaned every nook and cranny last week, so this week on Thursday it will get another going over then I will leave it for another week. We are having company over the weekend and we will be busy.
ReplyDeleteI love your Fiesta Ware mug! It is so nice!
Hugs, Cindy
Don't feel bad, I am type A, too! I can't seem to rest till it's all done :)
ReplyDeleteThe dust bunnies come all too quickly! I have always wished you could "clean it once" and be done. I will say, there is a special feel to a freshly cleaned home. Your Fiesta find is wonderful! I do think you might attempt to enjoy it more frequently... those dust bunnies will still be there. ;) blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI dream of a day when the whole house is clean - every room on the same day. It's not likely to happen as long as I'm working, but I can still dream.....
ReplyDeleteI have given up on a clean house all at once...just a room or two now works for me =) The books sounds great I will have to get a hold of it. Lovely mugs!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you only paid 45 cents for that Fiesta mug! My kind of shopping. I have kids who mess up my house faster than I can clean it so I let it go and then clean like a mad woman, savoring the moments that everything is clean.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm like you, Dotsie! I LOVE getting everything done and then sitting back to enjoy it! :)
ReplyDeleteI try to hit the GW once a week, but in our tiny mountain town, a good find is rare.
Hope you have a lovely one!
