I missed the Book Thief when it was here in the theaters and have not read the book
yet but want to. Meanwhile here is "my" little book girl. I love when I visit her town.
yet but want to. Meanwhile here is "my" little book girl. I love when I visit her town.
She's always there, sitting outside the town's library nestled
on a ridge over looking her little mountain village.
on a ridge over looking her little mountain village.
I think if she was a thief, she would have been caught by now.
She's always reading the same book each time I visit.
I love it! We have a bronzed statue on the order of yours also in front of our library, but ours doesn't have a little puppy. Whenever we visit an historic home that has the former occupant in bronze we always take our photo with it. Hmmm....sounds like a good post. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is darling! And the reason she's reading the same book is because the dog keep distracting her. I know the feeling. :-))
ReplyDeleteHow charming. She's likely enjoying her view and that distracts her from her book.
ReplyDeletePerfect way to read! I haven't seen the movie or read the book but they are both on my list.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Beautiful!! Nothing in the world better than a good book!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is it must be a very good book.
ReplyDeleteMerle....................
The Book Thief was fabulous!

What a sweet statue...and a perfect welcome to the library! Thanks for showing us the detail with your lens.
ReplyDeleteSweet!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the book or watched the movie. I hear it is a tear jerker.
Love that this is outside of a library!
Deanna
What an adorable statue, and such detail.
ReplyDeleteSweet statue...what book is she reading about a lion and a mouse. The Book Thief is a title I know nothing of.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little statue, I love them when I see them. And I see that you do too.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
She's a little darling. :) As to the book/movie...didn't see the movie either, but thought the book was exceptional. You might enjoy it. A mildly tough read, but the author dealt with the hard parts very delicately, I thought.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely sculpture to have outside the library.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure all the children love her and hopefully her presence encourages them to read.
Funnily Dotsie, I'm just reading The Book Thief now - it's very good. I haven't seen the film.
Love that little statue. I just finished The Book Thief. It was very good. first time visiting your blog. I see you've discovered the waterlogue app too. I just downloaded it but haven't done too much with it yet. It looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteWell, I haven't even heard of the Book Thief..I guess I need to get my head out of the clouds. What a gorgeous statue...I would love to have a smaller version in my rock garden.
ReplyDeleteShe must enjoy reading as she is always in the same spot everytime you visit. How sweet she is. Valerie
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your little reader! Books are a "must" in our family, and as the mother of two once-young little girls, your pictures bring back such sweet memories!
ReplyDeleteShe is delightful. I not seen the movie the Book Thief, but I am told it was very good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sculpture! I think it is so lovely to see this young girl reading a book instead of a computer. I have a china bisque ornament of a girl sitting reading a book that was my grandmother's and it's a favourite of mine. I haven't seen the movie.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful statue! I will have to check out the book. Thanks for sharing, have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post! I love the little girl statue. I read The Book Thief for my book group and loved it.

This is charming, Dotsie! As much as I love books, I would definitely enjoy having this statue in my own yard. :)
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Mosaic Monday -- hope you have a great week.
Hugs,
Denise
Podso,
ReplyDeleteLove the statue!
"Mr. Ed" and I are regulars at our City Library here on the Prairie. When "Mr. Ed" noticed I was reading the same book, he bought me my own copy!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Such a pretty statue. Where is it? It reminds me of when I was little. We always had our hair in braids and I was always reading.
ReplyDeleteMy mil is a librarian at school and we gave this to her...very cool isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet sculpture and I would be drawn to it as well~
