Beautiful images, Dotsie. We visited Charleston quite a long time ago, and I still remember the lovely homes and graceful architecture. It's all very harmonious.
I hope to be able to go there one day in the not distant future - way way high up on my Bucket List - and your pretty images just make me want to even more!
Oh, dear, Dotsie, we share so many of the same "loves". You have shared beautiful details! When Evan and I go places, he remembers peoples' names... I remember the architectural details. I wish I did better on names. LOL! Thank you for treating us to these! blessings and hugs ~ tanna
Charleston certainly is a feast for the eyes, I have fond memories of visits to that fine city. Your camera certainly found some beautiful decorative things to focus on. Happy MM.
Charleston is a great old south city. We visited several times as our granddaughter and he husband and our great grands lived there for several years. You've captured the details of its charm!
It is such a beautiful old Southern city. I love the windows and doors and all of the window boxes they have. Beautiful photos from interesting angles! Enjoy your day!
I've read other bloggers posts on Charleston in the past but I love your post focusing on the architectural elements. I love the old pressed ceilings and windows and doors are always in my sights for photo ops too!
Oh my goodness, I love architectural detail too! It's one of the things I love about visiting cathedrals. Of course, in a cathedral, there is so much symbolism involved too. Anyway, I would love to visit Charleston and Savannah for the architecture! Lovely photos.
I enjoy them too, but don't share them often. You have some great captures and I enjoy how different people close in on their particular capture. Ten people standing in from of the same building and all ten will probably look in a different direction~
Thank you for sharing the photos of Charleston. It is such a delightful city to visit and you are right, it is the details that make it special. The photo of the tile looks very similar to ones painted around one of the fireplaces in our 1730's home we had in New Hampshire.
We were in Charleston summer before last, and a week was definitely not long enough. The place veritably oozes history out of every crack and crevice. Love your "detail" photos. I am not good at those, but my middle son has an eye for them like you. Thankful for those who see the world in a different perspective... I am the beneficiary.
Me too, Dotsie -- I just LOVE Charleston!! Your pictures show some great examples of that wonderful architecture, which I think is rather unique in the U.S. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful weekend. (Hope it doesn't snow)

You have a good eye for those details, Dotsie! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful pictures of Charleston. It's all in the details there. I especially love all of the wrought iron fencing I kept seeing.

Lovely details all. I am always particularly charmed by open windows and doors, which you seem to be as well...

ReplyDeleteLovely details.
ReplyDeleteI'm often amazed how in older times even utilitarian buildings were often full of lovely details.
