1. The knock out roses have become an amazing hedge.
2. There is a brief window (pun intended) of time when the
pollen is gone, the intense humidity is yet to come,
and the windows can be flung open.
This week was one of those rare times.
3. Porch scrubbing complete, I am feeling thankful for this tablecloth
I found at a yardsale. It brightens the porch and my day.
4. So happy to be reading an Elizabeth Goudge,
even though it's musty pages bring the occasional sneeze!
5. The reality of life. Our high bed is my folding table.
I do like a neatly folded stack of laundry, which this isn't.
At least yet.
At least yet.
Joining Five on Friday.
The roses are gorgeous. We plan to plant them under our bedroom window. I think that's our next step in our landscaping project. Enjoy your weekend! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteA rose hedge! How lovely, I wonder if you know the variety?
ReplyDeleteA high bed is a great folding table. Wow! Those knock-out roses are amazing! I am obviously doing something wrong. That tablecloth is perfect for you and the porch...cheery and blue all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I find beautiful things, like your tablecloth, at a yard sale I always think, "What's wrong with these people?!" that they no longer want this. I did not recognize the Elizabeth Goudge book. Which one is it?
ReplyDeleteThat rosies hedge is just beautiful! Your porch looks inviting!
ReplyDeleteYes, we all have those piles of laundry to turn into neatly folded clothes. I had to laugh at your photo because there's a stack beside me on the couch, which is where I like to fold laundry. That's a beautiful tablecloth. Gorgeous roses and so nice to hear that spring has given you a good week!
ReplyDeleteThe rose hedge is a real delight and what a lovely place to sit in your inviting porch.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely post. Hugs,

Dotsie, I love your beautiful knock-out rose hedge! I too use my bed to fold clothes. Your new tablecloth is just perfect for your porch. Enjoy the sweet spring days! ♥
ReplyDeleteI fold on the bed too! In my laundry-fantasy moments I dream of a laundry room with a big, enamel-topped table on which I can fold even the big fitted sheets.
ReplyDeleteI fold laundry on the bed too! Your roses are beautiful aren't they, what a wonderful sort of hedge, practical and beautiful and you can pick the flowers!!! Thank you for joining Five On Friday, I hope you have a fun weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rose hedge! Do they smell as lovely as they look?
ReplyDeleteHave a great week
The rose hedge is beautiful. Our pollen is still high, though the awful humidity hasn't come yet. Love Elizabeth Goudge, particularly the Eliot Family series.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful knock-outs! I wish my windows would stay open but they don't...not really worth fixing since we rarely get to open them. Beautiful table cloth...some of my favorite things have come from yard sales! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a real knockout rose - wow!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty blue tablecloth - a great find.
It's a long time since I read an Elizabeth Goudge - I loved her books.
I must have a look at the library for one!
I'd heard knockout roses make a good hedge but hadn't seen them until now, what a gorgeous sight!
ReplyDeleteIt appears many of us fold the laundry on a bed, sometimes there's a dog under mine.
I do like that pretty blue tablecloth and the view out of your screen on the porch. Gonna look up Elizabeth Goudge.
ReplyDeleteConcrautlations, you did a fantastic job on this roses! The hedge looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteAll my best from Austria
Elisabeth
What a beautiful porch and your table looks so sweet dressed in that blue tablecloth. OH my, I love windows open, don't do it often in Texas! Your knock out roses look absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday~
Nancy
Your knock out roses are great! I love the brief 'window' of time I feel that we can sit outside as well! sigh...
ReplyDeleteI love open doors and open windows, and do it when we can.
Pretty photos!
I wish I could grow knock out roses! I'm afraid the deer would eat them all. I have to plant things with a strong odor -they won't eat lavender or salvia or Russian sage so those are my perenials.
ReplyDeleteI also fold laundry on my bed--nice to spread it out and work fast. Your new tablecloth is very pretty!
Beautiful roses!! Love your tablecloth...even more so since it was a bargain! Oh, and that low humidity window of time? Priceless!!
ReplyDeleteHappy May!!
