I love a good window. This one is in a German restaurant outside Munich.
A friend was showing us something in this restaurant where he is friends with
the owner. We were not having dinner so I felt funny taking photos, but I could not
help myself. These are such a gorgeous windows. Yummy color.
So I did what I like to do: broke up the image and moved around parts of it
to create a mosaic.
It helps you to look more deeply into what you are seeing.
This gentleman was simply enjoying al fresco dining
and ended up on a blog. Oh my …

I love the window and the lighting, looks like a beautiful place to dine.. Thanks for sharing, have a happy new week!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you wanted to take pictures of it...it is stunning ! Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a large living room with a fireplace at one end and that window at the other! sigh. : )
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Dotsie, I love, love these windows!!! They are indeed gorgeous! I love European architecture; never seem to tire of it. That second picture reminds me of Bilbo Baggins's home in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. This really is a charming restaurant!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and have a good week!
Hugs,
Denise
Pretty window and great design on the mosaic. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteUnique window, beautiful window treatment, and creative mosaic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous window!! I would have had to take a photo too. I was like that in Italy with doors!!
ReplyDeleteXO Kris
The mosaic is beautiful! What unique windows. I wouldn't be able to resist a few photos either! What a nice place to dine! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. The mosaic turned out great! Those windows are really cool.
ReplyDeleteAren't you the clever one to use pieces to make a mosaic whereas I find the huge window itself one big mosaic of light and what lies beyond.
ReplyDeleteMaybe someone will read your post and say "hey, there's grandpa." LOL
Thanks for linking to MM Dotsie.
I do, too--love a good window. They are the eyes of the soul of the house.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful windows letting in lots of light. Looks like a nice place to eat!
ReplyDeleteWow, those are beautiful windows! And the view outside so pretty, so green!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really great mosaic! The windows are quite beautiful. I bet the food is great there too.
ReplyDeleteSimply Lovely! My blog did a little move to http://behindthegardengate.com/ I hope you will stop by for a visit soon.
ReplyDeleteI love interesting windows. One of the things that bugs Steve and me the most is when a little beach cottage is torn down and a big huge 3 story monster appears. And then, they use cheap windows - all that money they spend to build a house, and it has few interesting features.
ReplyDeleteNice! I love windows and doors! And am trying to stop sometimes feeling weird about taking pictures. At least I'm not taking selfies -- that's all some people seem to do. I mean hello, there's more to see than yourself, right? One time a lady did get haughty as she didn't want to be in my picture and believe me, I didn't want her in it ... I was aiming up at the old theater behind her ... some people. Have a great week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteSnap!! I love your window photos - if I'd been there, I would have been clicking away for sure!
ReplyDeleteYour large mosaic is really great!
That man hos no idea how famous he is!!
Great idea to crop the photo and reassemble it to create a mosaic, I've not seen that done before, very clever.
ReplyDeleteMy eye went to him first thing in the first photo. Yes that is a great window and your mosaic makes it even more interesting.
ReplyDeleteThat is one beautiful window! And your creative and interesting mosaics are very impressive!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful restaurant! Gorgeous windows, and I liked how you broke it up!

What a fun way to create a mosaic!
ReplyDeleteI love this window and the wide sill in front of it. The restaurant owners have chosen well with the draperies, too. A mosaic such as yours does allow one to see things in a different way.
ReplyDeleteNot only is the window lovely, but your mosaic is totally fascinating, causing me to look and look and enjoy it and figure it out!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful through the window shots........greenery always looks so appealing when viewed in a window frame.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!
Ruby
I love the mosaic you made - very clever!!.......and I like your thought on taking something apart to look more closely at the elements. The window is certainly special - the shape, the view, the foreground and the choice of drapery all come together to make something memorable.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder about photos of people. Doesn't it seem strange that you may never see them again and here they are on your camera. Interesting and creative mosaic! I appreciate a good window too. We have a little old sunrise window (from 1913 installation) on the landing of our stairway. It is always amazing to me that it didn't get broken as the kids were growing up - like so many other things did. So glad it survived.
ReplyDeleteThat is a stunning window. I like its curve and grand scale, not to mention the wonderful deep sill. So lovely!

That window is wonderful, what a lovely place and I wonder how many others have photographed it's beauty over the years. Very nice shares!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a window worth noticing - and the human figure in it makes it more interesting and rich. I read that somewhere about landscape photography. Maybe it is true of architectural as well!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful window!!! Yes.
ReplyDeleteAnd also....
A mosaic as a delightful way to use photography, to illustrate your point...
...Of looking more deeply, into what we are seeing.
Another example of the uniqueness of this blog...
Lovely photography, yes. But lots of blogs feature lovely photography.
Interesting thoughts, yes. But lots of blogs feature interesting thoughts.
Your way of combining these things, makes your blog unique.
And "unique" is a wonderful word, to me, anyway. :-)
