We still miss our dog, the girl dog with a boy's name--Meshach-- who we adopted
when she was about one. A very pretty, gentle and loyal lab-chow.
Yes she had a black tongue, and a lab personality.
Her coat could get really messy and thick and she was hot in the summer so we often
had her shaved, poor dear. She felt a bit humiliated, but would still proudly pose
when the camera came out.
The first photo was taken at night with flash, the other two without.
I did nothing to enhance these other than cropping.

Shach lived until she was 14. My son captured this wonderful
photo we have framed. It shows her expressive eyes.
She always looked right into our eyes.

Aww, what a sweetheart! I love the cut he got even if he didn't...so cute! Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dog. My sister had a Chow-Newfoundland mix. What a sweetheart she was! I'm sure the memories of your girl will stay with you forever, but what a blessing to have great pictures of her too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie pie...!:)
ReplyDeleteSweet! Love that last photo!

Oh my...she looks so sweet! These babies become such a part of the family, don't they? They leave their marks and continue to be missed long after they are gone.
ReplyDeleteAwwww....Beautiful and sad! Bless your hearts. It's hard to lose them...
ReplyDeleteLove these...

So sorry she is gone, our pets are such a big part of our family. You captured a soft sweetness I can understand why you framed the last one. Thank you for sharing the precious photos!
ReplyDeleteShe looks like the most patient of pets. What a love!
ReplyDeleteShe does have beautiful eyes...so expressive of love and devotion.
ReplyDeleteOh Dotsie, I LOVE that last picture; it really captures the sweetness and patience of her spirit. Yes, we do miss them long after they're gone, don't we? Our Scotties have always looked right into our eyes too, and that's one thing we love about them. It's a form of communication, if that doesn't sound too strange. The second picture is funny with her stylish haircut. :) Our dogs were always self-conscious when they had to be shaved because their hair got too matted, so I think it's cute that Shach would still pose for a picture. What a great dog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these pictures with us. Duncan is really catching on to his potty training now (thank goodness), and he's still a bundle of energy. He does make us laugh, though. :-D I hope you have a great weekend; it looks like we're in for a rainy one.
Big Hugs,
Denise
Oh, I know you miss her. She had such an expression face and was a beautiful color. It's nice to have our photos to remember our sweet pets. Have a good weekend! We're loving this refreshing cool weather. Even the rain feels nice today! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that last photo is a keeper. Have to admit, I'm embarrassed for her shaved look too but am aware how hot these dogs can get. A little sad to think that one day Topaz's photo will be a memory as well since he's getting up in age.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely dog! I agree with the majority here. The last photo really is a grabber because of her soulful, expressive eyes.
ReplyDeleteSweet thing!!!!
