I just happened to take photos of a big storm we had last week,
though I had forgotten the subject of Donna's next photo challenge.
Here's my two views of the rain, captured as dusk began to fall.
This was taken during torrential rain, though you would hardly know!
I especially love looking at the rapidly changing sky as the storm advances.

ReplyDeleteThat first photo is amazing. I looked at it for a long time and am going back to look again. It's dreamy, as if looking into a distant tomorrow. I love it.
I think that you get an A because I can really tell that it's pouring buckets. Sometimes, I couldn't capture the rain itself.
The last one...who mows that lawn...is wonderful, too, for the bouncing raindrops on the pavement.

Your shot of the chair in front of the curtained window is lovely. One has the sense of the storm seen from a serene room.

ReplyDeleteInteresting how monochromatic everything becomes in the rain.
If you don't have to be out in the rain it has a mesmerizing effect to stand and watch it pour, doesn't it? When it rains hard, the ground can't absorb all the water and much of it runs off so give me a day long gentle rain any time.

ReplyDeleteAlthough it is rainy here in the southern hemisphere as I write this, it is winter time, albeit in the sub tropics, so I had to hark back to an old photo for this challenge, from our summer storm season!
We are still deep in our drought and several people are telling me about the torrential rainstorms they are photographing.
