Do you ever think about all the flurry of preparation and anticipation for Christmas?
It's really about the birth of the Christ child, still, 2000 years later.
There's so much symbolism to appreciate in the decorations if
we take the time to really look and think about it all.
program I (used to) enjoy using. Furthermore, I had to spend some time knocking
myself out of the reflection in the giant red Christmas ornament.
Good Morning!!! I do like your shiny red ornament. You must have done a good job of erasing yourself, I really cannot see your reflection. If you find a good photo software package let me know what it is. I cannot even crop a picture with the junk on my computer. My son tells me to pop the cash on the expensive software he uses. Have a wonderful day! .... Candy
ReplyDeleteAt least you are trying with the editing. I have Photoshop that I've yet to install (at least a year old) and just keep using Iphoto which came on the computer. So true that we can find the meaning of Christmas in so many ways if we just stop and think about it all.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Funny girl!!! I noticed myself in the reflections of many of the things I took pictures of too. Didn't use those in my post. Cuz I too, was in my jammies!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely, shiny things!!!

I love that big red ball. I've found myself reflected in a lot of shiny ornaments that I've been photographing too, or my camera lens. And I don't bother to edit them. A lovely post. The true meaning of Christmas is everywhere if we but look. Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking quite festive at your home, lady! I know what you mean about "selfies in the shinies" editing. It's usually just the black lense showing up mostly - ugh - oh well, worth it to share, yes?
ReplyDeleteI love your carrollers singing. I never was one for collections but always enjoy seeing them so much.
You mean we missed it?! The vision of you reflected in the red ornament? Shoot!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, the season is rich with symbolism. Are you going to write about that someday?
Nuts. I wanted to see you in your jammies. :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, been using free Picmonkey lately. You can tweak quite a bit, and might work (as does GIMP), unless you're a diehard Paint Shop Pro gal.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the symbolism of our decorations and preparations. It's something I've been thinking a lot about this Advent - trying to figure out what it all means. (in a new way)
ReplyDeleteLove the shots you took. Those reflections are hard to eliminate!
Thank you for helping to get in the Spirit of the season. You could have left your reflection there ...I read that selfies are all the rage....and pajamas are Christmasy;)
ReplyDeleteI love to see other's decorations! It seems, too, that so many people are down this year and not wanting to decorate or really celebrate.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for this post that reminds us of what Christmas is all about!
Deanna
I know what you mean about staying in PJ's --it is that time of the year!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying decorating a little at a time. We have a guest staying with us this weekend and we have been taking him around to the usual sight seeing places...lol.
I love catching reflections! You and the Christmas tree look very festive reflecting in the shiny red! And yes...our high today was 82 which was perfect for me! Enjoy your week! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI laughed when I read you had to get rid the reflection of you in your PJs. ;))
ReplyDeleteOh darn! An oops of you in your pj's would have been fun Dotsie. I always remember something I photographed and I couldn't figure out what the reflecting red was - my top. LOL
ReplyDeleteAs our friend Vee has suggested, I hope you will write about the symbolism of Christmas.
Judith
I love that you were taking pictures in your pj's! :D
ReplyDeleteThere is so much joy in celebrating the coming of Christ!
O, it's so pretty, I love the carollers. Very nice and so festive!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your pretty decorations. I am really slacking this year. :/
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. They are having so much fun with Lady Red.
Stay warm and have a great week.
We've celebrated Advent the past few years and I've really enjoyed it. It helps keep my thoughts focused on Christ.
ReplyDeleteI thought your photos looked great!
The spirit of the season is aglow inn your beautiful images of shimmering ornaments and carolers in song. Looking forward to more thoughts on the true light of the season.
ReplyDeletePoppy
Lovely ornaments and decorations. Why not share your PJ reflection, it would be a cute selfie! Thanks for the reminder and reason for the Christmas season. Have a happy week!
ReplyDeletePodso,
ReplyDeleteMuch of our time at Christmas is spent in Worship services. I spend a great deal of time preparing my home for Christmas, but I want to ponder in my heart the True meaning of Christmas!
Fondly,
Pat
P.S. I do understand the editing!!! I have to remember NOT to wear RED when photographing my silver!!!
No rushing for Christmas here. I refuse. Tree and a few wreaths. Shop all year & on Amazon. Done except for cards:).
ReplyDeleteJane
YES, I DO THINK ABOUT IT AND I TRY TO CELEBRATE HIM EVERY DAY. KIND OF INTERESTING, THOSE WHO GO ABOUT ADORNING A TREE, A HOME AND DO NOT BELIEVE...THAY ARE STILL CELEBRATING HIM, WHETHER IN THEIR HEARTS, OR NOT...HUGS~
ReplyDeleteI love the objects you've chosen to share, Dotsie; they're all so sweet. I had to laugh at your last sentence; we've had our reflections turn up in pictures too (very frustrating). How cute that you were in your pjs. :)
ReplyDeleteWarm hugs to you,
Denise at Forest Manor
What beautiful decorations!
ReplyDeleteWe are celebrating Christmas in the traditional sense this year and it is bringing me great joy. I too have some of these glorious huge red ornaments-aren't just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJemma
