I was touched at the number of you who affirmed my blog after my last post. I honestly wasn't out for that ... I was writing more about how I think I have nothing more to say, think about shutting down, and then something more comes along. Maybe that's the surprise pleasure (one of them at least) of blogging.
Anyway I did appreciate the comments because I don't have much confidence in myself, so it was nice to know some appreciate what I try to do here! Thanks! I also have had a very busy summer and find the creative juices flow less easily when life has a full plate. Big deadlines at work, helping both sons move and settle in new houses, adjusting to a new computer and design program, as well as a stubborn sinus infection have made it an unusual summer.
But I love "hope" --- what would life be like without it? And I have high hopes for the coming fall season. I'm hoping life will be simpler and I'm working to make it so.

I'm glad you're staying!
ReplyDeleteOh you and Brenda at Coffee Tea Books and Me have been struggling with the sinus infection misery. I can't imagine trying to get through that in a hot, humid summer. Hope that you are well on the mend; she seems to be.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know that there is a stirring up again after a lull. Very reassuring...

Oh my goodness..don't shut your blog down. We all feel that we are on empty from time to time. The words will come again. I love visiting!

Sounds like a busy time down your way. Summer is the worse time to ail I think. Take time when you need to. A little refreshing is good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Podso,
ReplyDeleteHope! A title for your upcoming blog post, indeed! Many times life gets the better of us and we just need to step back and re~access! So~o~o glad you're not leaving us! I'll be watching for your newest journeys with anticipation!
Fondly,
Pat
I am really looking forward to what you share this fall! I enjoy all of your posts :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you aren't closing up shop! I would be lost without my blogging mentor :)
ReplyDeleteDotsie sometimes just posting that you're taking a short break is enough to refuel the creative juices.
ReplyDeleteHope is a good thing to have, and for any number of reasons.

look at the quote on my blog today!
ReplyDeleteDon't leave. Need you in the blog world. Such good writing and that camera eye of yours. What would our Book Club be without our photographer?!!! And seeing those grands HERE not on FB!
So glad you decided to stay sweet friend. Although I don't stop by every day I do so love reading everything that you share and the friendship that we've forged:)

I almost threw in the old blog towel a short time ago. Everyone runs out of steam and interest now and then. I just stayed away from it for a while, checking in now and then, and when I got back, it was fun again. Keep at it at your own pace...we'll be glad you did!
ReplyDeleteI know just how you feel! I too had almost quit blogging because life kept getting in the way and then I realized that I love to blog. It makes me happy, it gives me peace and I am better for blogging....so I'm back and I'm glad that you will be staying too! I've always enjoyed your blog.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you - these busy times are normally the times when I have the most difficulty finding 'my words'. The come back, eventually!
ReplyDeleteHope is what keeps us going. I'm hoping I will finish the painting outside before it snows, and can collapse on the couch in front of the fire with a good book. :)
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, my friend!
Hugs,
Zuzu
I missed your last post -- started back to school this week so it's been busy. You are right, when our plates are full, our creative juices just don't seem to flow ... I haven't crafted, crocheted or created anything this past week. But it is the weekend once again, so hopefully I can get something done ... not just cleaning. :/ Glad to hear you are sticking around. Wishing you a wonderful day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo, I have seriously considered shutting down my blog, but I can't yet. Fall and Winter are coming and there will be no company in my home and I will be lonely and needing to talk to my "friends" and you and my other regular commenters are "it".
ReplyDeleteFor some strange reason I have not had the joy of meeting in REAL life, women who are my age and are empty nesters. I am so tempted to go around my neighbourhood and knock on doors and find out who lives behind them and possibly find a woman like me who also would like a friend in the neighbourhood.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Cindy
I decided today to stop by some blogs and am glad I stopped by here. I went back to your "Once Upon a Post" and read how you've been feeling. It echoes the way I've been feeling about blogging but I'm going to try to carry on - I'm your newest follower and i'm glad I stopped by today! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy sweet KC is a singer/songwriter. Maybe you've linked to her music through my post. She's so creative, yet each time that she records a new CD project, she goes through a season where she thinks that all of her inspiration for new songs has dried up. It hasn't, she just has to learn to be comfortable with taking a break. I think that we all go through those experiences. Thanks for trusting us with your thoughts. Cherry Kay
