Wandering through small towns as we love to do,
small and large shops antique or junque shops draw us in.
We stop at a corner shop; it looks large, but old, old.
No pretty cracked plates or pitchers in the windows.
We walk the dusty aisles, floor boards creaking under our feet.
Lots of old equipment it looks to me through the dim light … maybe a farmer
would know it. Of course we make our way through it all to the back.
would know it. Of course we make our way through it all to the back.
You just never know what you might find.
Something catches my eye in a dark corner table loaded with stuff.
No price of course. I offer 50 cents. Probably generous.
And I have used it over and over.
I call it my character vase.
Squatty and a bit wide. Perfect.
I used it with a TJ's amazing 3.99 bouquet at our Thanksgiving
table (with some of our own late garden gerber blooms added).
Umm...not sure. Maybe an old tail light or glass light fixture? Not sure but a good vessel for your pretty flowers. ♥
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a glass for a light fixture or an insulator for an electric pole.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is a globe for over an outside light but maybe not quite big enough. Perfect for a vase.
ReplyDeletePerfect vase. Not tippy, which is always what gets me!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking some kind of outdoor light cover.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great with flowers in it!
looks like a cover for a light bulb
ReplyDeleteVery colourful and pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteI think your commenters have figured it out! Makes a good vase. And very pretty mosaics. BTW, does your grandmother's mincemeat recipe call for beef? I loved my grandma's mincemeat pies.
ReplyDeleteI too think it's an insulator from a power pole. No matter, it's serving a wonderful new purpose. Lovely bouquet!
ReplyDeleteFun post and how pretty! A light globe? What a good find!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I haven't a clue what your vase was in a previous life. I just know that it looks lovely filled with seasonal flowers!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mosaic Monday.
My first thought was something electic/power related, but I am really unsure. Whatever it is, I agree that it makes a wonderful vase!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking it's a light cover for an outdoor light but could be very wrong. Whatever it is it makes a useful vase for your beautiful flowers. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteIt does make a good vase! You inspire me to go thrift shopping more.
ReplyDeleteLovely as a vase for sure and I think as others have said already that it is a light cover of some sort.
ReplyDeleteI know what it is...I think! And I didn't look at the comments yet! haha! It looks like the cover for a light fixture...maybe one at the back door. And it makes a beautiful vase! Hugs!
ReplyDeletePodso, I agree with those saying it's a light fixture cover. This is my reasoning: It has a lip at the top where the screws would hold it on and straight sides is not typical of a vase. The flowers are good looking with bright gerba daisies. Sylvia D.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the original use, you've repurposed it beautifully. A vase of character!
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty cool used that way. I think it is a porch light cover. This house used to have them.
ReplyDeleteI was also going to say your vase might be a porch light cover? It acts beautifully as a vase--and your Gerber daisy in it is so pretty! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say an old porch light globe because we had one similar but when I went back to look at it again, I am thinking no...it doesn't seem big enough. It is just darling, whatever it is!
ReplyDeleteWhat ever it is, it works and flowers are beautiful in it
ReplyDeleteLove that vase! Whatever it was in a previous life, it is surely a wonderful vase now. ;) I can't stop looking at your flower arrangement, too. Such vibrant and beautiful colors and love those Gerbera daisies! Pinks, oranges, and corals... lovely!!
