milk shake tradition.
It's quite nice--cool and refreshing whether
during a sultry sunny day or a downpour, as we've been having lately.
Strawberry, chocolate m&m, and double chocolate.
Good conversation too on a wide variety of things ...
including the possible ban on straws in England.
Did you know metal straws can come with tiny bottle brushes for cleaning?

Big sis was a different day at a different place.
It was our fifth year of the tradition at this diner.
The owner even came up to congratulate another year.
He remembers us.
Darling tradition you have established with your grands, Dotsie! I personally decided not to use plastic straws. Most milkshakes can be eaten with a spoon. I remember paper straws, but I'm not sure you could drink a milkshake from one.
ReplyDeleteYour table looks so pretty. I'm liking the blue and white on the pretty tablecloth. Your denim napkins complete the lovely table along with your beautiful hydrangea blossoms. ♥
Hi Dotsie,
ReplyDeleteWe love Cook Out milkshakes here at our house!! What a fun tradition for celebrating the end of the school year. I've noticed some of the restaurants here don't automatically offer straws like they used to. Hmmmm. Your grands sure are cute, Dotsie, and your dining room table looks lovely. Are you enjoying all this rain? I told Hal this evening that I feel like we've moved to a different country where all it does is rain. Sigh.
Hope you have a good wee!
Hugs,
Denise
Hi Dotsie,
ReplyDeleteI misspelled "week" in the first comment! Ooops -- so embarrassing!! I even previewed before I published, but completely missed that one.

Awwww . . . such a sweet tradition! Your grands will always remember these "last day of school" days with joy!
ReplyDeleteWell that’s a sweet~cool tradition! If straws are banned here...silly England...I mean really...don’t they have better things to legislate...I will definitely want a metal straw because paper straws are the worst. Hope that summer has even more milkshake moments... 🍓
ReplyDeleteWhen I boys were that age school would be half day the last day so we'd always have a picnic lunch in a park. Traditions are like glue to hold our memories together so they don't get lost in the minutiae!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful traditon! I really love your table setting for dinner with friends!
ReplyDeleteIt is special traditions such as these that that they will remember all their years. Looks like you've been to Cookout...they have great milkshakes! And finally, your table is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Say, I could do that even without kids around! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove this tradition and judging from the expressions, your grands love it, too. Sweet. Beautiful inviting table!
ReplyDeleteWhat a a nice way to celebrate the end of the school year! I haven't had a milkshake in ages--they looked so good!
