I don't take many naps but I love a Sunday afternoon
nap on the porch when the weather allows it.
It is so, so relaxing to be outside, I go right to sleep listening to the bird chatter.
The last time I had such a nap, I woke up and took
pictures each direction with my phone showing my views from the couch.
We built our porch about the same time as a blogger did
who has the words "nap" and "porch" as her
blog title. She obviously knows a thing or two about naps on porches.
I'm hoping our old wicker will make it a few more years. All our porch
stuff was bought from here and there second (or third!) hand.
Oh I love naps on porches. You are blessed to be able to do that daily! I must use memory to know that I have enjoyed many, including on my great-grandmother's ivy covered porch where I would lie down on the hammock and drift off in that cool corner... Thank you for sharing your view! You must also have tea parties there and suppers on cool enough evenings...so many things.
ReplyDeleteI too remember my grandmother's porch with great fondness and tried to make ours a bit like hers. Yes we've had some good tea parties on the porch!
DeleteWhat a delightful place to sit and think, or gaze, or hum....
ReplyDeleteHi Dotsie, Your porch is sooo nice!!! It looks wonderfully cool and relaxing, and I, too, love an afternoon nap. :) Our home has a screened porch that was added after the house was built, but unlike yours, it is NOT a good porch. It has so many problems, I never go out there. I would love to have a sunroom in its place, with windows that can be opened, like we had in Greensboro. It never hurts to dream, right?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit, and I hope you're enjoying this delightful weather we've had this week. I enjoy seeing pictures of your home, since you've said that our homes are very similar. Take care and have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Denise
Your porch looks like a most appealing place for a nap. I'll be right over.
ReplyDeleteYour porch is wonderful and yes! how lovely to be outside as much as possible. Outside naps are priceless ;)
ReplyDeleteLove, Carolien
I love screened in porches, Dotsie. I've always wished for one. How inviting it looks with your pretty wicker pieces. Your porch looks like the perfect spot for a nap. ♥
ReplyDeleteYour porch looks like an excellent place for a nap as it's cozy being enclosed and I can imagine it is a nice place for tea with a friend too.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a porch I could take a nap on for sure!
ReplyDeleteI envy you! Such an airy and comfy spot to nap in or do whatever you enjoy. Lovely view!

Lovely, lovely, lovely. A Sunday afternoon nap, the great porch, the birds singing...
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this wonderful space with us!
Your porch is so charming (love the wicker. . . love the red tray) and, yes, the perfect place for a nap! (As long as the weather is pleasant, of course.)
ReplyDeleteWow! What a gorgeous porch you have. So beautiful and peaceful looking. It belongs in a magazine! I am a wicker lover, and i have been saving mine for a porch like yours... someday!
ReplyDeleteAh yes...what a simple pleasure it is to enjoy a nap on the porch...and I am usually not a nap taker at all. Your porch is so lovely and I am a huge fan of wicker, be it white or another color. What makes a porch nap a little more enjoyable for me is the addition of rain drops tapping on the roof. Yes, it's the simple things.... :D
ReplyDeleteAren't screened-in porches wonderful! No mosquitos! I was reading on mine at dusk last night and fell asleep. When I woke up it was dark and time to go to bed.
ReplyDeleteYour porch is wonderful and a great place for a nap I am sure!
