If you put a little cereal in the bowl, I'll be all set for breakfast.
Low sodium vegetable juice, coffee (1/2 caffeine, 1/2 caffeine free).
Other days I have two eggs rolled into an omelet with a tad of cheese.
I admit to bringing out the creamer and sugar bowl just
for the photo. I dearly love this sugar bowl found somewhere at a
resale shop. It broke but was carefully glued together.
The napkin is rediscovered from the 1980s. Are you noticing checks reappearing?
If you are as fussy about your view as I am, I wonder if you can guess
what would "bug" me about this place setting.
I do love the view of this I-EA plant and container
along with my grandmother's depression glass S&Ps, and a
little gift I bought the Gardener. He likes to have a toothpick handy.
In my work with a mostly young communication team,
I'm learning centered photos aren't the best, especially
if they are of people. So these last two are not centered.
Also a pop of red seems to enhance a photo, doesn't it?
And that's about all I have to say about my 5 breakfast views.
Joining Amy's Five on Friday.
Your place setting is lovely, Dotsie. I really like the Depression salt and pepper shakers as I love these pieces from long ago. The blue and white is nice on the green place mat. The only thing I can see that would bother you might be the fact you are eating alone. Hopefully you will be joined soon at the table. ♥
ReplyDeleteI was thinking how pleasant the combination of blue and green is. Perfection!
ReplyDeleteTwo thoughts about your breakfast. I may add V-8 to mine and never thought of 1/2 & 1/2 caffeine. And what bugged you? The wall plug in the upper left corner? All that aside a very lovely setting.
ReplyDeleteLucky you -- I haven't found a Depression salt and pepper that I like that didn't break the bank! I hope using them brings happy memories of your grandmother. I love blue and white -- it just seems to go with everything. Fun breakfast post!
ReplyDeleteI love your dishes, what a lovely breakfast you'd have with that place setting!
ReplyDeleteI agree about the offset vs centered photos, but I don't always remember when I am taking photos. Old ways die hard sometimes!
Your dishes are so pretty and contrast well with the green placemats. The sugar bowl is well-mended and still useful - something to remember in life. Hope you enjoyed your breakfast!
ReplyDeleteThere's an old saying about blue and green not being seen together but I think if you put something in between, like red, the colours always look great. Enjoy your petit dejeuner this weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove each of the five looks, all so very creative!! I don't see anything would bug you!! YOu are too funny!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend,
Nancy
I loved theses photos. My daughter just bought a set of similar dishes. Your photography skills are amazing! Maybe the design in the dish not centered correctly? Have a great day! Pat
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed all of your views, lol. Your dishes are sooo pretty! Can't see a thing that should bug you, lol. Enjoy your week-end!
ReplyDeleteIt's probably the wall plug! And it's so hard for me to use a photo where the items are not centered...but I love the way it looks! Can I have oatmeal in your pretty bowl? Enjoy your weekend! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI like your five views idea and I think I like 2 and 3 the best. I'm going to look for one of those toothpick holder/dispensers! Is it the top left corner that is buggin you? Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the blue & white dishes. I have an old set of plates with (I think) the same birds & flower motif in the centre. Sometimes I'll take a photo nicely centred and then crop it off-centre. I just hate to lose the image on the sides! What's bugging you is that white speck on the green placemat. right?!
ReplyDeleteWendy
Very pretty! I do love a pop of red in a photo too. We're in good company. So did Renoir. 😃

ReplyDeleteI love experimenting with my Nikon. I am such a rank amateur, but I love photography. The last shot, with the red in the tomato juice is nicely done. Thanks for encouraging my to become more active with my camera...hey, I even have a precious new puppy. She'll be the perfect topic. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteThis a great table setting for breakfast. We need to pamper ourselves and how can you lose with pretty blue dishes and all the accoutrements? You really had me searching for a bug, all I can guess is that little speck on the placemat. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI study food shots in magazines because I like to post recipes and my pics always turn out awful. Most look good from a birds eye view so you get the full effect of what's on the plate. In that case I like to shoot a little off center. If you shoot from eye level it's good to use your macro setting to blur the background and focus on the food. Or...you can just have a pretty backdrop like flowers!
Thanks always for your visits, Dot! :-D
I like tablescape shots and the red V8 juice certainly does add a pop of colour. I'm going for a long shot here but I noticed a crumb on the placemat in the photo you said had something bugging you. Of course, that's just me and it may not even be a crumb. lol
ReplyDeleteNice tablescape and photos! Happy Wednesday ♥

What a lovely table setting! I love the colors and how the green placemat shows off the blue dishes! If I had to pick a favorite, I think I'd choose the first picture. I am a fan of the bird's eye view in photography.
ReplyDeleteThat is a darling sugar dish, Dotsie!! I love all your blue and white transferware (of course). :-D It sounds like you're eating very healthy breakfasts; I'm going to have to start doing the same. I always want to center my photos, too; I would have to force myself to do otherwise. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Dotsie, and have a good day!
Hugs,
Denise
