now for something totally different

Life has been a little quiet … it's winter, we've been busy
and I've been sick. No snow for excitement, no tulips here yet,
just cold temps and life, but wonderful life.
So I looked back to our stop in Germany last summer.
Just some random favorite scenes that caught my eye.
I found it interesting that young people (I was told) enjoy wearing the
traditional dress for everyday and dress-up wear,
just updated a wee bit (see first mosaic.)

  1. Your "totally different" is also totally bright and cheerful and a welcome sight on a winter's night! Isn't it nice to have these memories in the memory bank...as well as modern technology to bring them to the forefront?

  2. The photo of the boots is colorful and very functional! When we were in Germany the only folks we saw wearing dirndl and lederhose was at a festival and in the restaurants. I love seeing the flowers---I think I want it to be Spring! ♥

  7. Lovely and colourful photos. I like the boot rack. Where would this have been used? The plant nursery and curtained windows in the second mosaic are so pretty. I hope you are feeling better.

  8. Such pretty photos from Germany! I like the rack of colorful rubber boots. When I was a child I had a traditional German style dress that I loved. I felt like one of my favorite storybook characters, Heidi, when I wore it!

  9. Some interesting and colourful random photos from your trip to Germany Dotsie. I have to say my favourite is the rose peeking out by the windows with ruffled curtains.

So sorry to hear that you too have been ailing with this rotten stuff! I call it stuff, because I don't know what it is. We all had the flu. Despite the flu shot. And then a short relapse. And then, this horrible congestion and cough and yuck!!!! I am a very high energy person, and have been completely zapped of my get up and go!!
You get well too! Pick up that hook again, and stitch up a pretty poncho!!!!!

  16. Hi Dotsie, I love your mosaics! The second one, particularly, is so colorful and makes me think of spring. :) I had noticed the clothing in the first mosaic and thought that was the traditional-style German clothing, but I didn't really catch the updates until I read your post. I have mentioned to Hal a few times that it would be fun to go to Germany sometime. I'm especially interested in the Bavarian region. Maybe someday, we'll get to visit there. :)

I hope you're feeling much better, Dotsie; I read that it's supposed to turn really cold here again later this week. Stay warm and well!!

    Hugs,

    Denise
