I've had these window views to share from our visit to
Germany this past summer so thought I should post them before they get too old.
Nothing to do with this season, but I do love windows, looking in or looking out.
One of Munich's most beloved oddities is the "Glockenspiel", or carillon.
If you notice the books in the foreground you see that I've taken this
picture from inside a huge bookstore on the city square.

It was five o' clock and the players had come out to play (see top of tower).
It is so much fun to watch the characters come out at the designated time in Munich. When we were there we also climbed the stairs to the top of the church that is near the square.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot of the glockenspiel in Munich from the bookstore. A whole new perspective. Watching the characters appear was very entertaining when I was there with my mom and sister a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteAlso love the window with the shutters, and the pretty window boxes. I don't think anyone does window boxes as well as the Germans/Bavarians/Austrians.
I share your fascination with windows! I love to take photos of a window view. And I absolutely love to ride by a house with lights on and curtains open and be able to get a peek inside.
ReplyDeleteThe views you share here are lovely. Beautiful window boxes! And -wow!- the Glockenspiel!
I like your photos of windows, it is interesting to see how different they can be and wonder what life is like behind them. The Glockenspiel is amazing, and I bet that bookstore was too!

Awesome shots, Podso!
ReplyDeleteI hope to one day get to see that part of Europe. I haven't traveled enough. I haven't. You have inspired me to look back into doing so.
I always enjoy seeing windows and the views from them. The balcony windows are really pretty with their umbrellas and flowers. The Glockenspiel would be fascinating to see!
ReplyDeleteLovely, as always, dear one. You're magical behind a lens. :)

ReplyDeleteOh it must be something to see and hear. The perspective you share is a nifty one...above the square and over the books. How handy it would be to have nifty shutters like that...so charming and quaint and practical.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful windows and views! I'd love to visit Germany one day!
ReplyDeleteJust wonderful pictures. I love the one with the shutters. It stirs the imagination.
ReplyDeleteI never tire of looking at photos of doors, windows, or gates. I guess it is the wondering about what lies beyond.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, Podso. We are going to Europe in June and will be spending a few days in Munich. Maybe I will have a picture to share of the Glockenspiel when we return. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLovely post and photos, Dotsie... I am often mesmerized by gazing through windows, be it from the inside or the outside. I especially love the shape of the first one :)
ReplyDeleteI love windows, too, so I love seeing your photos, especially because they were taken overseas.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is that one with the teal blue shutters. How pretty they are!
ReplyDeleteI love your window post and they have made me take time to really look a windows. These are great!
ReplyDeletePodso,
ReplyDeleteAmazing photography, dear friend!!!
LOVE the window with the green shutters!!!
Fondly,
Pat
