Our mentoring gatherings are taking a break for the summer.
But we already are planning for next year ... thinking about bread baking,
crocheting/knitting, wreath making and more ...
So we mentors gathered to celebrate the year past and talk over joys and
lessons learned ... and the best part of it all--the young women we mentor.
Our hostess loves to open her home and does it so graciously.
She created a vintage theme and even ordered old-timey candy to decorate
the table (and in this case, displayed in vintage tupperware!)
This is one of two beautifully scaped tables.
What I loved the most was the way she displayed beautifully tatted handkerchiefs.
As if hanging from a clothesline. What a work of art each one was!
We are looking forward to resuming in the Fall!
Those handkerchiefs are amazing!! This sounds like such a wonderful group, Dotsie! I look forward to hearing more when next season begins... blessings ~ tanna

My friend and I are going to do something similar to this with our preteen and early teenage daughters. There will be another family joining us for 5 girls ages 11-15. We are going to sew aprons, and pillowcases, we are going to knit and crochet, do hand sewing/stitchery, bake bread....
ReplyDeleteFun times ahead!

I think your mentoring group sounds like a wonderful thing, Dotsie. Those young women will reap the benefits of your time and commitment for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE old-fashioned lace handkerchiefs. I was fortunate to be able to buy several of them when we were in Dublin, Ireland, and gave many of them away as gifts. What a pretty idea to display these in such a way.
I hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July!
Hugs,
Denise
Oh how I would love to be part of that group!
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th sweet friend!
