a Christmas week

There are times weeks are so jammed full I can barely remember all that took place.
I'm always thankful when I've remembered to take a photo or two.
This week: an early Christmas with family visiting, a birthday celebration,
a visit to a beloved old friend who read me some of her poetry,
recovering from minor plastic surgery on my face (!! yes, rid of more of those atypical cells),
a birthday celebration of the life of a babe taken to heaven,
time with grandchildren, and ending the week
with an amazing concert by Kristyn and Keith Getty.
If you like Irish music, look them up!
It's been wonderfully cold and rainy.
About the best winter-like weather we get in this part of the country.

In the bleak mid-winter, frosty wind made moan,
earth stood hard as iron,
water like a stone …

  3. I looked them up! Loved the sound. Have saved the one I listened to to my favorites list. That reads a little confusing, but I guess it is correct enough. You sure know how to pack a week full. All that and plastic surgery, too?! I certainly hope that this resolves all issues for you.

  7. One of the most memorable things we did last Christmas was to attend Joy! An Irish Christmas with the Gettys at a local church here. We also DVRed it when it was on PBS last year, and it has made it through the year still on our DVR. We can't wait to watch again. Such richness in their music. Glad you have had some real celebration... because He lives, we can even celebrate when a wee one is taken to heaven.

  8. A full week for you, indeed! Yes, I agree as well...life is made up of joy and sadness and God said that in His word. I saw the photos of the concert on your FB page. I had to say I felt just a tinge of jealousy...I LOVE the Getty's music and I can only imagine how beautiful this concert was! I hope you find plenty of red berries on your holly! :)

  9. Dotsie, Full weeks are pretty common this time of year. I had a concert on the weekend, put up my tree, and working on Christmas cards and gifts. Looks like it was a wonderful concert. I love Christmas music as well. Sylvia D.

  10. There must be a better word than busy for the week you had. It does happen to us all but it sounds like it was a pleasant one for the most part.

  13. What a full and wonderful week you've had, Dotsie! I do like Irish music, so I'll have to Google these artists. I love that last picture of the lanterns in front of the window -- so pretty. Have a good weekend, my friend.

    Hugs,

    Denise
