We rushed summer a bit this year. Made more definite plans than we usually do,
wanting to enjoy some things before the end of July when life would change for us.
It's easy to take little road trips where we live--to the mountains, to Charleston, to the beach,
and a favorite dinner picnic spot--by a fountain up in our beautiful city. So we did, enjoying
times with family and friends, and with just the two of us.
There was lots of "nesting" going on at home--some projects,
some big cleaning, checking off "to do" lists.…
All in readiness for another knee replacement.
Now I'm recovering at home and it has gone very well.
I keep busy––walking, exercising and napping. Slowly building up my new
knee and looking forward to being free from nagging pain.
And, always grateful.
It looks like you had some wonderful vacations this summer. Now is a good time to stay indoors anyway with all the heat and humidity. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you are doing well, Dotsie. And so glad you didn't "miss" summer fun before you had your surgery. Take care. Now it's your turn to take it easy. ♥
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness HOW I wish I were where you are at! I need to replace both of mine too but they won't do it until I lose weight which I can't seem to do! I have no cartilage in either knee and it has become just debilitating! Wishing you a complete and speedy recovery!!
ReplyDeleteSo good to know that you are doing well after knee replacement surgery. I'm sure you skated past the challenges, but you are blogging a week later and your post made perfect sense! Happy recovery in record time...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear the surgery went well and you are on the mend. It was good planning to do those summery things before being sidelined for a bit. Hoping the recovery continues apace.
ReplyDeleteDotsie, I'm so glad that the surgery was successful and you are doing well in recovery. I pray pain free fun times ahead in due time. Sylvia D.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad everything went well! It is a blessing to hear this good news, especially since I can relate to your situation...not through personal experience but because we see knee replacement patients in the PT clinic everyday. Smart girl you were to get as much summer in as possible before hand! Take it easy and rest well as you continue your healing and rehab. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love the title, Intentional Summer. I'm so glad your recovery from knee surgery is going well. I hope that continues, and gives you a pain free autumn.
ReplyDeleteHooray for your new knee! I pray recovery and strengthening continues to go smoothly and you will pain free soon. Love all your collages here, little glimpses into your summer activities.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that everything has gone so well with your surgery! Your plan was smart and now you can rest and recuperate in the A/C during the dog days of summer!
